Create and control share links

A share link lets another visitor open an allowed copy of a signed-in customer's configuration. The random link is the access credential: anyone who receives it can use the values included in that link.

Before creating links, enable Allow customers to save configurations to their accounts in POM Settings → Ecommerce → Product management → Product presets and saved configurations. The account and sharing tools remain unavailable while this permission is disabled.

  1. Open My account → Saved configurations.
  2. Find the configuration and choose an expiry of 7, 30, or 90 days, or No expiry.
  3. Leave Include text, dates, and customer-entered prices in this link cleared unless the customer understands that these values will be visible to anyone with the link.
  4. Select Create share link.
  5. Copy the displayed URL immediately and send it through an appropriate channel.

The raw link cannot be reconstructed from the account page later. Create a replacement link when another copy is needed.

Default redaction

By default, share links retain structural choices such as selected products, variations, and reusable options, but remove customer-entered text, text areas, dates, and custom prices. Files are always excluded. Values whose current field identity or type can no longer be verified are also excluded instead of being guessed, including nested add-ons when their integration is unavailable.

Selecting the personalization checkbox is explicit consent to include those supported entered values in that bearer link. It does not include files and does not change who can use the URL.

  1. Return to My account → Saved configurations.
  2. Locate the link under Share links.
  3. Select Revoke and confirm the action.
  4. Open the old URL in a private browser window and confirm that it reports the configuration as unavailable.

Revocation and expiry are checked again while a shared configuration is in use. A previously opened browser session cannot continue applying a link after that link becomes invalid.

Current-data behavior

Opening a share link never grants access to the owner's account record or to other share links. It opens the configured product with the share's permitted values, then performs the same current product, availability, required-field, and price reconciliation as an owner configuration.

The owner's readable historical selection summary is not carried into the bearer context. Only the historical currency and total needed to detect a price change remain available to reconciliation.

If a current price differs, the visitor must confirm it. If the product, variation, or required structural selection no longer exists, the visitor must correct the configuration or the link may be unavailable.

Verify the result

  • Open a normal link in a signed-out private window and confirm that customer text and files are absent.
  • Create a link with personalization only after entering non-sensitive test values and confirm those allowed values appear.
  • Test both an expiring link and a no-expiry link.
  • Revoke a link and confirm that both a new request and an already opened shared session lose access.
