Validate the public llms.txt response
Test the exact root URL:
https://example.com/llms.txt
Response checks
- Request the URL with
GETand confirm200 OK. - Confirm the response is plain UTF-8 text.
- Request it with
HEADand confirm no document body is returned. - Confirm
/llms.txt/redirects to/llms.txt. - Repeat an unchanged request and check that the POM Tweaks cache-status response header reports a stored hit.
- Send the returned ETag or Last-Modified validator and confirm an unchanged representation can return
304 Not Modified.
A cache miss can still return correct content. Investigate an unstored response when every request repeats generation.
Markdown checks
Confirm the file:
- begins with exactly one H1;
- contains no HTML administration markup;
- uses H2 headings for resource groups;
- places optional links under exactly
## Optional; - contains only absolute public HTTP or HTTPS links;
- keeps titles and descriptions concise and current;
- does not expose draft, private, password-protected, noindex, or alternate-canonical resources.
Open every high-value link while signed out. A syntactically valid Markdown line can still point to a login page, redirect chain, wrong language, or discontinued offer.
Invalidation checks
Change one selected item, save it, and request /llms.txt again. Confirm the new eligible title, excerpt, URL, or status is reflected. Then change an unrelated unselected item and confirm the curated selection remains stable.
If a physical web-root file or another plugin owns the URL, remove that conflict before evaluating this module. Disabling LLMs.txt should stop POM Tweaks from serving the endpoint, but it does not disable other providers.
