Prefer free shipping when available

This control lets store managers hide paid rates when a package can be delivered at no charge. It uses the actual shipping rate cost, including zero-cost methods supplied by extensions; it does not require the method to be named Free shipping.

  1. Open Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce → Shipping with WooCommerce active.
  2. Enable Prefer free shipping and click Save.
  3. Open a cart that qualifies for free delivery. Confirm only zero-cost rates remain.
  4. Remove the qualifying condition and confirm paid rates return.

A free Local pickup or block pickup location alone does not hide paid delivery. When another free method is available, free pickup remains alongside it. Paid pickup is treated as a paid rate. The condition is evaluated independently for each shipping package and works in classic cart/checkout and WooCommerce's Store API.

This control filters available rates; it does not grant free shipping or change a rate's price. WooCommerce and other extensions determine which rates are available first. Their own shipping filters can also affect the result.

If paid delivery is unexpectedly missing, check which available method has a zero cost and review other shipping rules. Disable this tweak and save to restore the rates supplied by WooCommerce and other active integrations.
