Customize administration branding

Use these seven independent controls to adjust titles, terminology, the footer, and optional administration panels for one site. You need permission to manage that site's settings. Jetpack must be installed and active for its promotion control to have a visible effect.

Enable and configure a control

  1. Open Settings → POM Tweaks → White labelling → Branding.
  2. Enable the controls you need. Each is off by default and has its own checkbox.
  3. For WordPress display name, Admin text replacements, or Admin footer, click Save to initialize the fields if they are not yet visible.
  4. Complete the fields described below and click Save.
  5. Reload another administration screen to check the saved behavior.
Control Configuration and result
Remove WordPress from the admin title Removes the trailing WordPress suffix from the browser-tab title. The page title and site name remain.
WordPress display name Set Display name to plain text. It replaces WordPress in translated administration text, including contextual and plural translations. Empty text preserves the original name. URLs, email addresses, and HTML attributes are preserved.
Admin text replacements Add ordered Search and Replace with pairs in Replacement rules. Add, clone, remove, and drag rows as needed. Matching is literal and case-sensitive; a blank replacement removes matching text. See the replacement guide for scope and ordering.
Admin footer Choose Keep the existing footer, Empty footer, or Custom HTML. With Custom HTML, enter Footer HTML. Safe links and formatting are supported; scripts and unsafe markup are removed when displayed. Only the left footer changes, not the version area.
Hide Screen Options Hides the native Screen Options panel. It preserves each user's saved column and panel preferences.
Hide Help Removes contextual Help tabs from site administration screens. It does not remove the features explained by those tabs.
Disable Jetpack promotions Disables promotional messages that use Jetpack's promotion filters. It does not disable Jetpack features or suppress notices from other plugins.

These controls apply to site administration for all roles that can access the affected screen. They do not change public pages, stored post content, Network Admin, or the network user dashboard. They are presentation controls, not access restrictions.

When both title cleanup and the display name are enabled, the title suffix is removed first. The display name still applies to other translated administration text. The custom footer preserves its own wording.

Verify the result

  • Open Posts → All Posts and inspect the browser-tab title, left footer, Help, and Screen Options. Check a screen that normally exposes the panel you are hiding.
  • For a display name, inspect several translated labels and confirm WordPress support links still point to their original destinations. Text that is not translated through WordPress may remain unchanged.
  • For a custom footer, follow its links and check that formatting is readable. Select Empty footer to clear the left message or Keep the existing footer to restore the output supplied by WordPress and other plugins.
  • For Jetpack, revisit a screen that previously showed a promotional message. This control has no visible effect when Jetpack is absent or when a notice does not use its supported promotion filters.

Disable or troubleshoot

Clear an individual control and click Save, then reload the affected screen. Its saved configuration remains available for reuse. Disabling one control does not change its neighbors.

If the footer stays unchanged, confirm Admin footer is enabled and Custom HTML is selected. If a panel remains hidden after disabling its control, another plugin or the screen itself may hide it. Temporarily restore Help and Screen Options when configuring editor preferences.
