Save and reuse a product configuration

Use this workflow when a customer wants to keep Product Add-On choices or a complete POM Composite selection for a later purchase.

Prerequisites

  • Enable Product presets and saved configurations under Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce → Products.
  • Enable Allow customers to save configurations to their accounts. It is disabled by default, while store-managed product presets remain available without it.
  • Enable the Product Add-Ons or Composite module used by the product.
  • Publish a purchasable supported product with a complete configuration.

Save while signed in

  1. Open the product page.
  2. Select the variation, Product Add-On values, or Composite chapter products and quantities.
  3. Complete any Product Add-Ons attached to selected Composite components.
  4. Enter a name under Save this configuration.
  5. Select Save to my account.
  6. Open My account → Saved configurations to review the saved item.

The account library provides Open, Rename, Duplicate, and Delete actions. It shows 50 configurations per page so every item remains manageable up to the account limit. Deleting a configuration also makes all of its share links unavailable.

Guest policy

Guests can open permitted share links and complete the current configuration, including current-price confirmation when required. They cannot create a saved configuration until they sign in. POM Tweaks does not create an implicit account or store a guest configuration in local browser storage.

What is saved

  • The product and current variation identity.
  • Product Add-On field and option identities plus the entered values.
  • Composite chapter selections, selected products or variations, component quantities, and supported nested Product Add-On values.
  • The configured product quantity.
  • A readable price and selection snapshot for the account history.

Files and file contents are excluded. A required file is reported when the configuration is reopened and must be uploaded again before purchase.

Open and reconcile a configuration

  1. Select Open in My account → Saved configurations, or follow an allowed share link.
  2. Review the Saved configuration review shown on the product form.
  3. Complete any newly required field or file and replace any removed or unavailable choice.
  4. If the current total differs from the saved total, select Confirm current price.
  5. Add the currently validated configuration to the cart.

The current server price is the only price used in the cart. A saved snapshot is never submitted as a price. Confirmation is tied to the current customer or to the guest session that opened a share link, the reconciled values, and a short validity period. Changing the form clears the saved context, and the server independently rejects a retained context when the submitted selections no longer match the confirmed configuration.

Reconciliation evaluates the current Product Add-On conditions before reporting changes. A saved value that is now inactive is reported and does not count toward the currently validated selection, while a conditionally inactive required field is not presented as missing. For Composites, a component whose portable product or variation reference no longer resolves is reported and excluded instead of falling back to its historical numeric ID.

When Polylang or WPML provides a translated product or variation, POM Tweaks resolves that current-language product and renders current translated labels. The historical snapshot may retain the language used when the item was saved, but it is not used as the live interface or pricing source.

Verify the result

  • Save and reopen one simple Product Add-Ons product and one variable product.
  • Save a Composite product with multiple chapters and a component that has Product Add-Ons.
  • Disable one saved option, add a new required field, and change a price before reopening.
  • Confirm that removed or required values are reported and that the new price requires confirmation.
  • Change a condition so a saved field becomes inactive and confirm its value is reported but the inactive field is not treated as a new requirement.
  • Remove or replace a referenced Composite component and confirm it is reported and cannot be applied to a different product with a historical ID.
  • Add the reconciled result to both a classic cart and a Cart Block and confirm that WooCommerce shows the current configuration and total.

If a configuration cannot be opened, confirm that its product, variation, configurator module, and current-language counterpart are still available.
