Hide the Dashboard welcome panel and selected widgets
Site administrators can control which panels appear on the site's WordPress Dashboard under Settings → POM Tweaks → White labelling → Dashboard. The two controls are independent and apply to all users of that site's Dashboard.
Hide the welcome area
- Enable Hide Dashboard welcome panel.
- Select Save.
- Open Dashboard → Home and confirm that the welcome area is absent.
This removes the complete welcome area, including content added there by another plugin. It does not hide normal Dashboard widgets. Disable the control and save to restore the area's normal behavior, subject to each user's existing preferences.
Choose hidden widgets
- Enable Hide selected Dashboard widgets, select Save, and reload the settings page.
- Select Discover widgets. The list reflects the widgets actually registered on the current site's Dashboard for your account, including widgets registered by plugins.
- Check every widget you want to hide. The smaller text identifies its widget ID and placement, helping distinguish widgets with similar titles.
- Select Save widget selection. Wait for Widget selection saved. before leaving the page.
- Open Dashboard → Home and verify that the selected widgets are absent while other widgets remain available.
The page's Save button controls tweak activation. Use Save widget selection to save the discovered list. Selected widgets are removed from Dashboard rendering and Screen Options across all columns and priorities; their content and underlying data are preserved.
Discovery includes widgets hidden by this control. It does not run their content callbacks. Widgets removed by another integration, or restricted to a different account or role, may not appear. The selection is site-wide, not role-specific.
A previously selected widget that is no longer registered remains listed as Saved selection; widget is not currently registered. Keep it checked to hide it if it returns, or uncheck it and save to remove the rule. Discover again after enabling or disabling a plugin that supplies widgets.
Restore widgets and verify
Uncheck individual widgets and use Save widget selection to restore their normal behavior. Disable Hide selected Dashboard widgets and select Save to stop applying all its rules while retaining the saved selection. WordPress continues to honor each user's existing layout, collapsed state, and personally hidden widgets.
These controls apply to the site's Dashboard only. They do not affect Network Admin, User Admin, post editor metaboxes, public pages, or frontend widget areas. Hiding a panel does not change anyone's permissions.
If discovery fails, reload the settings page and confirm that your account can open Dashboard → Home and manage this site's settings. A Dashboard redirect or access restriction can prevent discovery. If saving reports that another session changed the selection, discover again and review the current choices before saving.
