Activate your POM Tweaks license

POM Tweaks is free of charge, but it is still a licensed POM product. You must complete the renewable zero-cost POM Tweaks subscription, save its license key, and authorize the installation’s domain to receive private update metadata and packages.

Licensing does not switch runtime tweaks on or off. A temporary license problem must not disable already configured local POM Tweaks behavior.

Obtain the key

  1. Sign in at account.pom.es.
  2. Complete the zero-cost POM Tweaks checkout if the subscription is not already active.
  3. Open My Account → Licenses & Downloads.
  4. Copy the POM Tweaks license key.

Treat the complete key as a secret. Do not place it in screenshots, tickets, exports, source control, or chat transcripts.

Connect a single-site installation

  1. In WordPress, open Settings → POM Tweaks → License.
  2. Paste the POM Tweaks key.
  3. Select Save and validate.
  4. Confirm the result identifies POM Tweaks, the expected plan and expiry, and the current authorized domain.
  5. Reload the page and confirm that only a masked key is displayed.

POM Tweaks uses the shared POM license field on its existing settings page. It does not create a separate license submenu.

Connect a multisite installation

The POM Tweaks license is network-scoped:

  1. Open the main site’s dashboard.
  2. Sign in as a network administrator.
  3. Open Settings → POM Tweaks → License.
  4. Save and validate the key.
  5. Confirm that the authorized plan allows the intended multisite use.

Do not look for the license form under Network Admin → Settings → POM Tweaks. That screen owns network-level tweak configuration, not license management.

Site administrators can see masked shared status where the field is rendered, but only a network administrator can change the POM Tweaks network key. Unlike POM AI, POM Tweaks does not use a separate service license for each subsite.

Understand the available actions

The License section changes according to the saved state:

  • Save and validate validates a new key and authorizes the domain.
  • Replace and validate checks a replacement before overwriting the working key.
  • Revalidate refreshes the saved validation status.
  • Unlink requests remote domain deactivation before removing the local entry.

If remote unlinking fails, the working local key is retained instead of being silently discarded.

The status can report a missing, invalid, expired, revoked, product-mismatched, or domain-related problem. A temporary account-server network error can use a limited grace period after a previously valid check; deterministic license failures do not.

Verify private updates

After validation:

  1. Open Dashboard → Updates or Network Admin → Dashboard → Updates.
  2. Request a fresh update check.
  3. Confirm POM Tweaks does not show a missing-license warning.
  4. When an update is available, confirm WordPress receives POM Tweaks metadata through the private channel.

The common POM updater can discover installed POM products even when they are inactive. The local POM Tweaks fallback runs only while the plugin is active and, on multisite, requires it to be network-active or active on the main site.

Domain changes and recovery

Revalidate after moving between staging and production, changing the canonical domain, or altering multisite domain mapping. The authorized domain must match the installation that requests the package.

If WordPress salts change and the stored encrypted key can no longer be read, paste the original key again. Do not try to recover or copy the encrypted registry value between unrelated installations.

If the key is unavailable or the subscription state is wrong, resolve it in the POM account before repeatedly replacing the local value.
