Set customer prices by role

Use Customer role prices to give different customer groups their own prices. Each row identifies a WordPress role and controls its product prices, tax display and savings message. There is no two-role limit. WooCommerce must be active, and an administrator must configure the roles.

Configure pricing roles

  1. Open Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce → Products.
  2. Select Enable and click Save if the controls are not visible yet.
  3. Under Customer pricing roles, click Add new for each role.
  4. Enter a unique Role ID using lowercase letters, numbers and underscores, and a readable Role label.
  5. Select the options for that row and click Save.
  6. Assign the intended role to a customer through Users, then enter its prices on your products.
Option Effect
Create and manage this customer role Creates the role if missing, using WooCommerce Customer permissions. Customer-only roles become available for assignment by shop managers. Existing role names and permissions are preserved.
Enable product and variation prices Adds a separate price field for this role on simple products and individual variations.
Display prices excluding tax Displays catalog and cart prices excluding tax for customers with this pricing role. WooCommerce still calculates the applicable taxes.
Display savings percentage Shows the reduction against the current public price on individual products and selected variations.

You can enter the ID of an existing role without enabling role creation. Role label names its product price fields; changing this label does not rename an existing WordPress role. Keep Role ID unchanged after assigning customers or entering prices. Removing a row or disabling the tweak does not delete roles, reassign customers or erase saved product prices.

If a customer has several configured roles, the first row with Enable product and variation prices selected takes precedence. Drag rows to change that order. A missing price on that row uses normal pricing; it does not fall through to another role. Duplicate or invalid IDs are skipped and reported on the settings page.

Enter product prices

  1. Open Products → All products and edit a product in the classic WooCommerce product editor.
  2. For a simple product, open Product data → General and fill in the fields named after your role labels.
  3. For a variable product, open Product data → Variations, expand each variation and enter its role prices.
  4. Save the product or the variation changes.

An empty field uses the current normal or sale price. Enter 0 deliberately to make the product free for that role. A role price never increases the current normal or sale price. Use the store's usual convention for entering prices with or without tax; Display prices excluding tax changes display, not the meaning of the amounts entered.

The standard product price remains required for WooCommerce purchasability. Grouped, external and extension-specific product types do not gain these price fields. The controls target the classic product editor.

Verify pricing

Use separate customer accounts for each role and compare a simple product, a selected variation, the cart and checkout. Confirm that a customer without a configured pricing role still sees the normal price. Variable product ranges are calculated separately for each pricing role.

WooCommerce price calculations use the selected role's amount, including classic checkout and the Store API. Coupons and taxes continue through WooCommerce's normal calculations. Extensions that explicitly set a cart item's price retain control of that price, so check your add-on and dynamic-pricing combinations. Ordinary administration screens show the product's base price.

If an amount is unexpected, check the customer's roles and row order, whether prices are enabled, the product's sale price and the individual variation's amount. A negative or invalid amount is rejected while preserving its previous value. Ensure any page cache varies by logged-in customer or bypasses customer pages.

Clear a role price to restore normal pricing for that product, disable its price checkbox to stop that row's pricing, or disable the entire tweak. Saved amounts remain available when re-enabled.
