Tour the POM Tweaks interface

Configure the built-in features under Settings → POM Tweaks. The classic catalog helps you find features by their former names; its articles point to the current modules.

Start with the dashboard

Settings → POM Tweaks opens Dashboard, an index of the available sections, tabs and tweaks. You need permission to manage site settings. In multisite, network settings can only be changed by a network administrator.

Each tab name appears once beside its group of tweaks. All section tables use the same column widths. Alternating group backgrounds and subtle row shading help distinguish neighboring tabs and tweaks. Groups resize when you filter the list.

  1. Choose All, Active, Active in network or Inactive. Active includes both site and network activation. Counts describe the complete available catalog, before a text search.
  2. Use Search tweaks to find a tweak, section or tab within that status filter. Use Clear search to remove the text filter.
  3. Follow Activate or Deactivate to the tweak's enable control. Change the checkbox and save that settings page to apply the change.
  4. For an active tweak with configuration fields, follow Settings to its heading or custom settings panel. Features without a separate configuration show only the activation link.
  5. Return to Dashboard and confirm the resulting status.

Green Active means enabled for the current site. Blue Active in network means enabled in Network Admin. Red Inactive means disabled in the scope shown. A tweak's own rules still determine which pages, users or products it affects; an enabled tweak does not necessarily change every request.

The multisite site dashboard also lists network sections, clearly marked Network Admin. Update and theme controls affect the network; network admin appearance only styles the network administration area. A site administrator without network-management permission can see those states, with Managed in Network Admin instead of edit links. The network dashboard lists only network settings.

Tools and License appear as navigation links without an activation state. Viewing the dashboard, filtering and following links do not change any tweak. Conditional integrations appear when they are available in the settings interface.

Modern modules: Settings → POM Tweaks

The modern page uses POM Framework. Its top-level sections are built from the current site environment:

Section What it contains
Dashboard Searchable overview of all available sections, tabs and tweaks, with activation states and links to their controls.
White labelling Admin appearance for visual styling, Login & registration for access and registration behavior, User profiles for custom avatars and personal-option visibility, Metaboxes for editing panels, Admin general settings for navigation, import/export restrictions, notices, and the combined Admin redirects module, Widgets for discovered widget and menu-panel visibility and the classic widgets editor, Plugins for active-first ordering and selected-plugin visibility, Branding for titles, naming, ordered text replacements, footer, Help, Screen Options, and Jetpack promotions, Admin bar for discovered toolbar elements, logout, account greeting, and frontend toolbar visibility, Dashboard for custom HTML and RSS widgets, welcome-panel and widget visibility, layout, and interaction, and Email sender for the outgoing From identity.
Content Authors for author support by post type and custom archive bases; Editing for title guidance, editorial notices and duplication; Lists for row and bulk action visibility; General for role body classes and Trash retention; Maintenance for temporary pages and preview links; Pages for page-creation restrictions; Blog for list thumbnails, empty categories, pingbacks, and post classification features; RSS feed for feed availability, discovery, and item content; Classic editor for editor controls and Comments for per-type discussion, notification recipients, and the website field.
Media Image optimization, safe media renaming, SVG uploads, image quality, upload limits, and attachment-page controls.
Optimization Optimization tools exposed through the WordPress Tools menu after activation, plus HTML head cleanup.
SEO & LLMs robots.txt, curated llms.txt, 404 redirects, and the conditional Polylang Pro language control.
E-Commerce Nine tabs group store behavior, products, taxes, promotions, shipping, cart and checkout, accounts and privacy, emails, and advanced administration. See the navigation guide below.
Updates Core, plugin, theme and translation update controls on standalone installations. In multisite these appear only in Network Admin.
Themes Theme installation, switching, deletion, customization and source-file editing restrictions on standalone installations. In multisite these appear only in Network Admin.
Tools Import and export of modern POM Framework settings and their managed CSS, JavaScript, and HTML files.
License Subscription, domain authorization, validation state, and private-update access.

Select a section, then its tab where present. Each module has an enable control and may reveal module-specific fields after initialization. Saving one module does not enable neighboring modules.

The Import / Export tool transfers only POM Framework settings and their managed assets. It does not import or export historical classic configuration and does not replace a full WordPress backup.

Find ecommerce settings

Open Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce, then choose the area that matches your task:

Tab What to configure
General Catalog mode, shop notices, sequential order numbers, payment-method order statuses and the Shipped status.
Products Product content and tabs, sorting, purchase buttons, price display and units, customer-role and country-zone prices, reserved products, stock and purchase limits, Product Add-Ons, Composite products, saved configurations and PDF catalogs. WooCommerce Bookings and its availability finder appear here when that extension is active.
Taxes Customer tax classes and tax-rate adjustments.
Promotions Category sale prices, quantity discounts, partial coupons, Frequently bought together and Force sells.
Shipping Delivery time rules, method descriptions and logos, free-rate preference, free-shipping progress and table orders.
Cart & checkout Cart ordering and restrictions, minimum order amounts, cart redirects and content, checkout fields and content, coupon placement, order buttons and confirmation text, payment fees, restrictions and additional gateways.
Accounts & privacy Shop as customer, product-specific terms, the default terms checkbox and required checkout acknowledgments.
Emails Additional recipient emails, custom WooCommerce notifications, email content blocks and email CSS.
Advanced Product editor pagination and attribute columns, product panels and type choices, generated SKUs and administration menu icons.

Each tweak keeps its own enable control and saved configuration. Moving between these tabs does not activate or reset a tweak. Existing bookmarks to former ecommerce tabs open the corresponding current group. If an older settings form is still open, reopen the current group before saving it.

Network Admin → Settings → POM Tweaks

The multisite network page is not a copy of every site setting. It currently provides:

  • an independent Admin appearance configuration for wp-admin/network;
  • Updates → Update controls for a single policy covering the whole network, including automatic updates;
  • Themes → Theme controls for network-wide theme management restrictions;
  • Import / Export for network-scoped POM Framework settings and their managed assets.

Network admin appearance does not alter individual site dashboards or login screens. Site settings and network settings use separate scopes, so verify both screens when a change is expected in both contexts.

The shared license is managed from the main site’s Settings → POM Tweaks → License page while signed in as a network administrator. The network settings page does not add a separate license form.

Former classic components

The built-in classic components have moved to modern modules or have been retired. The old Settings → Tweaks page has been removed. For Bookings, open E-Commerce → Products → WooCommerce Bookings; its six options share one module. Enhanced availability finder remains independent.

How to identify the correct guide

Use these clues:

  • A URL with page=pom-tweaks belongs to the modern framework page.
  • An old bookmark with page=pomtweaks points to the removed interface; open Settings → POM Tweaks instead.
  • Modern articles are grouped under Modern tweaks.
  • Articles under Classic tweaks map former names to current modules or explain retirement.

Follow the current guide for the replacement module and verify its saved options before enabling it.

After saving

After saving:

  1. Reopen the same section and confirm the intended value persisted.
  2. Test the affected screen or public request in the correct site scope.
  3. Test a role or condition for which the tweak should not apply.
  4. Keep an export of your modern configuration and a separate record of any values retained from an older installation.

Continue with Understand the classic and modern tweak interfaces to find a replacement by its former name.

Content → Post content hooks inserts HTML or registered shortcodes before and after post content and at the six supported POM Theme single-post positions. See Insert content around posts.
