Retain unused fixed-cart coupon value

Partial coupons lets a WooCommerce fixed_cart coupon keep the unused part of its amount after a payment completes.

Enable it under Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce → Promotions → Partial coupons.

Configure a coupon

  1. Open Marketing → Coupons and edit a fixed-cart coupon.
  2. Enable Allow partial use.
  3. Review any Allowed emails restriction.
  4. Save the coupon.
  5. Place a staging order whose eligible discount is smaller than the coupon amount.
  6. Complete payment.
  7. Reopen the coupon and confirm its amount is reduced by the discount actually used.

Example: a €50 fixed-cart coupon that applies €18 to a completed order is changed to €32.

Eligibility

The balance changes only when:

  • WooCommerce fires payment completion for the order;
  • the coupon is marked for partial use;
  • its discount type is fixed_cart;
  • its allowed-email list is empty or contains the order billing email;
  • the applied discount is less than the coupon’s current amount.

Other coupon types are ignored.

History and limitations

The coupon editor shows Coupon usage history for enabled partial coupons. Each entry records the previous amount, new amount, order, and time.

Refunds and cancellations do not automatically add value back.
