Assign sequential order numbers

Sequential orders assigns a public sequential number when WooCommerce creates a new order. WooCommerce continues to use its internal order ID for storage; the module changes the number shown through WooCommerce’s order-number interface.

Enable it under Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce → General → Sequential orders.

Configure the first number

Enter Starting Number, with a minimum of 1. The value is used only when no previous sequential counter exists. After the first assignment, the saved last number determines the next value.

Verify on a new installation

  1. Choose a starting number that does not overlap existing public order references.
  2. Enable the module and save.
  3. Create a staging order.
  4. Confirm its displayed order number equals the intended start.
  5. Create a second order and confirm it increments by one.
  6. Check administration, customer account, and email output.

An order that already has a sequential number keeps it. Existing orders are not backfilled by enabling the module.
