Control purchases and cart behavior
These independent WooCommerce controls determine whether products can be purchased, how product links replace a cart and the initial state of the classic checkout terms checkbox. Enable only the controls you need in Settings → POM Tweaks → E-Commerce, then click Save.
Make the store a catalog
Open General and enable Catalog mode. Products remain visible, but purchase buttons are removed and products cannot be added to the cart. The restriction also applies to variations and WooCommerce's Store API. Existing cart contents cannot be checked out while the mode is enabled.
Cart and checkout pages redirect to the home page, including checkout payment and confirmation endpoints. Existing products, carts and orders are not deleted. Disable the tweak and save to restore normal purchasing.
Verify an ordinary product, a variation, a direct add-to-cart link and the cart page. Merely hiding prices is a separate presentation choice; use Price display when you also want to replace visible prices.
Prevent purchases of selected products
- Open Products and enable Disable purchases per product.
- Edit a product using the classic WooCommerce product editor.
- Under Product data → General, select Is not purchasable and update the product.
- Check the storefront and attempt to add the product to the cart.
The product keeps its stock and price. For a variable product, the parent checkbox prevents purchases of all its variations. This rule never overrides another restriction that already prevents purchasing. Clear the checkbox and update to remove its restriction, or disable the tweak to stop applying all of its product flags. Saved flags are retained.
Replace the cart from product links
Open Cart & checkout and enable Replace cart from product links. A link containing an add-to-cart product ID replaces previous cart items after WooCommerce successfully adds that product. If the same item was already present, the requested quantity replaces its old quantity. Existing coupons are cleared. Newly added dependent items, such as composite children, stay with the new product.
This applies to product links with the URL parameter. Ordinary POST or AJAX additions without that URL parameter keep normal cart behavior. WooCommerce's ordinary product, stock and extension validation still applies. A rejected addition leaves the previous cart intact.
To verify, put a product in a test customer's cart, open a valid add-to-cart link for a different product, then check the cart. Repeat with a product that cannot be purchased: the existing cart must remain. Disable the tweak to restore normal URL additions.
Preselect classic checkout terms
Open Accounts & privacy and enable Preselect terms and conditions. The classic WooCommerce terms checkbox starts selected when a terms page is configured. Customers can clear it, and their submitted choice is preserved during checkout updates. Required acceptance validation still applies.
This control does not change the WooCommerce Checkout block or product-specific terms checkboxes. Check the classic checkout initially and after clearing the checkbox and refreshing the order review. Disable the tweak to restore WooCommerce's normal initial state.
