Distinguish local limits from POM AI credits

POM Translate applies site-level daily word and string limits before sending eligible work. POM AI also applies the credit and entitlement rules associated with the connected account.

These are separate controls:

  • local daily limits restrict how much the current site attempts during a day;
  • POM AI credits represent service availability for the licensed account;
  • resetting local counters does not add POM AI credits;
  • changing a local limit does not override authorization or plan restrictions.

The plugin updates local usage only after it receives usable translated output. Administrators can inspect the current local counters and use the reset tool when a deliberate operational reset is appropriate.

Developers should not treat local counters as billing records or edit their storage directly. Use the documented settings and maintenance controls, and show account-credit errors separately from local-limit messages.

On multisite, verify limits and usage in the site that owns the translation work. Do not combine several subsites' values into one assumption unless an external reporting system explicitly defines that policy.
