Translate WooCommerce email body text

The email workspace edits configurable subjects, headings, additional content, and the shared footer. The rest of an email body can come from WooCommerce templates, product/order data, or another extension, so it does not all share one editor.

Configurable body fields

Use Translations → Other translations → WooCommerce emails for:

  • Additional content belonging to one template;
  • Footer text shared by supported WooCommerce emails.

Compare source and target, preserve required placeholders, preview HTML and plain text, then save. Leaving a target empty falls back to its source.

Template interface text

Fixed phrases embedded in WooCommerce or extension templates normally use gettext. Install the correct language pack or translate the text domain through Translations → Software translations.

POM Translate cannot create a missing third-party catalog from product or email-field translations.

Commerce data inside the body

While a managed email locale is active, POM Translate can render translated:

  • product and item names;
  • variation and item metadata;
  • registered stable labels;
  • supported HTML and plain-text body fragments;
  • localized links.

Prices, totals, quantities, addresses, customer notes, order numbers, and other dynamic values are inserted as commerce data and remain unchanged.

Placeholder and HTML review

Email fields validate their declared WooCommerce placeholders. Body fragment translation also preserves protected structure, but editors should still inspect:

  • links and buttons;
  • tables and totals;
  • inline styles;
  • brace and printf placeholders;
  • HTML entities;
  • plain-text line breaks.

Preview limitations

The preview prepares common order, account, customer-note, refund, and extension contexts without invoking delivery triggers. It uses current unsaved field values and sample customer details.

Always send an explicit test for each format before publishing. A correct preview does not save changes, and an extension may add runtime content that only appears during its actual supported email flow.
