Validate machine-translated output
A successful service call produces candidate translations, not publication approval. POM Translate checks that usable output exists and that protected markers remain valid before storing accepted values with the machine-translated status.
Editorial validation should still cover:
- meaning, tone, terminology, and regional language;
- numbers, units, prices, dates, and punctuation;
- placeholders and inline formatting;
- internal links and localized destination paths;
- product, legal, checkout, and email wording;
- text length in buttons, menus, selectors, and narrow layouts.
If a value is missing or unusable, POM Translate leaves the source available rather than treating an invalid candidate as reviewed human copy. Correct the cause, retry only the affected work, and inspect the result.
Custom integrations must not mark provider output as reviewed automatically. When translations arrive through JSON import, use the status that accurately represents their origin and review state.
For placeholder-specific checks, continue with Review machine-translated content.
