slug: the locale definition slug

{%slug%} displays the slug from the locale definition. When that value is absent, POM Translate derives a short code from the locale.

Present the value deliberately

A slug can provide compact technical context:

{%local_label%} <small>/{%slug%}/</small>

It is less readable than a language name, so it is best suited to administrative demonstrations, technical audiences, or a design where the URL-style notation is intentional.

Keep display and destination separate

The tag is presentation data inside the generated link. It does not construct or override the selector's href. POM Translate calculates the localized destination independently from the target locale, current path, query string, fragment, and trailing-slash state.

Do not edit selector markup to change a public language prefix. Configure language URLs through the supported language and routing settings instead.

Check the real output

Review every enabled locale, especially custom definitions. Confirm that the displayed slug is meaningful and does not imply a route different from the link visitors actually receive. Follow each selector entry after saving; visual agreement alone does not verify routing.
