Reset today's local counters
POM Translate automatically starts a new daily word and string count when the date changes in the configured WordPress timezone. Administrators can also reset today's counters without waiting for the next day.
When a manual reset is appropriate
Use it after:
- increasing both daily limits for an approved run;
- confirming that a failed or unusable response contributed to the local counters;
- correcting an accidental local cap during a supervised translation session.
Do not use it repeatedly to bypass an intentional daily safeguard. Raise the configured limit to an agreed value instead.
Reset the counters
- Open Settings → POM Translate → Tools.
- Find Reset machine translation quota.
- Select Reset today's quota usage.
- Confirm that the action should reset this site's current usage.
- Return to Translations → Generate pending translations.
- Verify Daily Word Quota and Strings Today both start from zero.
The action requires permission to manage POM Translate settings.
What the action does not reset
It does not:
- refund, purchase, or change POM AI credits;
- remove stored translations;
- clear pending source strings;
- cancel the scheduled queue;
- change the configured daily limits;
- alter the error threshold or backoff delay.
If the machine-translation status was blocked specifically by the local quota error, that status is cleared. An unrelated pause or service problem still needs its own resolution.
After resetting, run one small batch and confirm the counters rise as expected. If the POM AI balance is insufficient, resetting local usage will not make the request succeed.
