Run a safe first sample

Generate pending translations is a site-wide operation, so it is not the correct tool for limiting a first quality check to a few strings. Use the filtered translation table and individual machine-translation controls instead.

Prepare a representative sample

  1. Configure one additional language and verify that automatic translation is available.
  2. Save a representative source post so its strings exist.
  3. Open Translations → Translate contents.
  4. Select the target language.
  5. Filter by Post and enter that post's object ID.
  6. Review the source rows and their context.

Choose content that includes a title, normal prose, formatting, a link, and any registered metadata important to the site.

Translate and inspect

Use the machine-translation control on one row at a time. After each result:

  • compare meaning and terminology with the source;
  • confirm protected markers are unchanged;
  • review punctuation, links, and inline formatting;
  • open the localized public page;
  • correct the value and select Save translations when needed.

A manual edit is saved with Human status. A successful machine result is saved with Machine status and can be rendered immediately; the status does not hold it back from visitors.

Decide whether to expand

Only launch the site-wide generator after the sample confirms the language configuration, POM AI authorization, terminology, formatting, and public rendering. Before that larger run, read Generate every pending translation and Plan a large-site run.
