Stop, continue, or cancel processing
The controls on Generate pending translations affect different kinds of work.
Pause a generation job
Select Stop while the generator is running. The current bounded request is allowed to finish, then POM Translate pauses the server-side job and keeps its saved phase and cursors. If cron and the browser reach the job together, the stop request waits for the active owner instead of overwriting its checkpoint.
Stopping does not roll back:
- source strings already refreshed;
- translations already created;
- queue entries already resolved.
To continue, select the same button used to start the job: Process all or Translate pending only. POM Translate resumes the existing unfinished checkpoint. To change modes, stop the current job first; selecting the other button then creates a new checkpoint without deleting completed translations.
For a stopped Process now queue loop, select Process now again. It reads the remaining persistent queue.
Cancel scheduled translations
Cancel scheduled translations clears the entire machine-translation queue, removes its scheduled WP-Cron events, and clears the recorded queue status. It does not delete source strings or existing translations.
Pending rows remain pending. Future eligible source saves can create new queue entries, and a later generator run can process unresolved strings immediately when automatic translation is enabled.
Automatic error pause
Repeated provider errors can pause machine translation through its safety threshold. The status card reports that pause. POM Translate automatically resets it after the configured backoff period when a later request checks the service; the manager does not provide a manual resume button.
Resolve licensing, quota, provider, or formatting errors before starting another run.
The generator also pauses on a content database error, parser failure, checkpoint write failure, or repeated unusable provider output. Resuming retries the preserved checkpoint; it does not silently advance past that content.
