Understand credits and local quotas

POM Translate's machine translation requires available POM AI credits. The plugin can display the balance reported by POM AI and can identify an insufficient-credit response, but it does not define the account's pricing policy.

What affects service usage

POM Translate groups related values into bounded requests:

  • up to 25 strings for one post and its metadata;
  • a normal target of up to 50 strings for another compatible group;
  • a hard limit of 200 strings;
  • never more than 400 source words.

Every target locale is processed separately. Subject boundaries, word limits, and a possible smaller-batch retry affect how many requests are made, so two sites with the same number of rows may use the service differently.

For current credit cost and account rules, use the POM AI account information rather than a fixed value copied into a project estimate.

Stored results and reported usage

POM Translate validates returned values before saving them. An individual value can remain Pending because:

  • required formatting markers changed;
  • the returned value was empty or missing;
  • the source was edited while the request was running.

Do not infer account usage solely from the number of saved Machine rows. Check the authoritative POM AI balance and the public error shown by the plugin.

Credits versus local quotas

The Daily word limit and Daily string limit are local POM Translate controls. They stop this site from sending more source material after its daily allowance is reached.

They do not:

  • purchase or restore POM AI credits;
  • predict the exact number of service requests.

Check the current balance under Settings → POM AI → License or in My Account → POM AI Management.

For planning, continue with Estimate a run before starting.
