Reset all translation storage

Reset translation storage permanently empties the main POM Translate data tables for the current site. Use it only when intentionally rebuilding the multilingual dataset from source content.

Data removed

The reset clears stored:

  • source strings and placeholder maps;
  • translations in every locale;
  • localized post, term, and menu slugs;
  • parsed content skeletons;
  • translation exclusions;
  • custom URLs, their localized destinations, and recorded occurrences.

Original WordPress posts, pages, terms, menus, products, orders, and media are not deleted. Plugin settings and the configured languages are not the recovery copy for the removed data.

Before resetting

  1. Stop active imports and translation generation.
  2. Create a verified database backup.
  3. Download a current translation export.
  4. Record localized slugs and custom URL mappings separately because the JSON export does not contain them.
  5. Confirm the current subsite is the intended target.

Clear the storage

  1. Open Settings → POM Translate → Tools → Translation maintenance.
  2. Find Reset translation storage.
  3. Select Clear all data.
  4. Read and accept the permanent-deletion confirmation.
  5. Wait for the result.

If any table cannot be cleared, the response identifies failed categories. Treat that as a partial reset: do not start rebuilding until the database problem is resolved or the backup is restored.

Rebuild after a successful reset

Save or scan source content to extract strings and recreate skeletons. Restore text with the import tool only after those exact source strings exist. Re-enter localized slugs, exclusions, and custom URL translations through their normal interfaces.

Finally, refresh permalinks and caches and verify public routes. Resetting storage is not the same as deactivating the plugin, resetting today's quota, or cleaning orphaned records.
