Review machine-generated translations
Successful automatic translations are saved with Machine status. They are available to normal rendering immediately; Machine is a provenance and workflow label, not a publication gate.
Build the review list
Open Translations → Translate contents, choose a target language, and filter Status by Machine. Use search, object type, object ID, and taxonomy filters to review related content together.
Repeat the review under Other translations for registered defaults. Software gettext catalogs have their own unsaved, export-based workflow and do not use these database statuses.
Review more than wording
For every representative object:
- compare the translation with its original text and context;
- verify names, terminology, numbers, units, and calls to action;
- preserve protected markers exactly;
- inspect adjacent segments for continuity;
- open the localized public output;
- test links, formatting, responsive layout, and fallback behavior.
POM Translate validates required markers before saving machine or manual output, but that structural protection does not verify meaning, tone, legal accuracy, or brand terminology.
Record the editorial outcome
Corrected non-empty text saved through the editor receives Human status. If the machine wording is accepted unchanged, select the rows and use Mark as Reviewed.
Do not mark a row reviewed solely because the provider returned text. The Reviewed state should communicate that a person checked the actual value in context.
Finally, filter by Pending to find values the provider skipped or rejected. Source text continues to act as the frontend fallback when no usable translation exists.
