Translate an editorial blog

A multilingual blog combines posts with category and tag archives, author pages, pagination, search, feeds, and frequent source updates.

Configure the editorial model

  1. Enable posts and the post fields the team will translate.
  2. Keep categories and tags enabled and define which custom taxonomies belong in the public experience.
  3. Add the target locale and decide whether incomplete posts remain accessible, excluded, or noindex.
  4. Define an editorial status policy for pending, mt, human, and reviewed.

Translate a representative article

  1. Save the completed base-language post to extract its source.
  2. Translate title, excerpt, body, mapped metadata, and SEO fields.
  3. Preserve inline placeholders and formatting.
  4. Translate the post slug.
  5. Translate assigned term names, descriptions, and slugs.
  6. Open the target post and follow its category, tag, author, and pagination links.

Protect ongoing updates

When the source article changes, review the affected translation rather than assuming the previous wording still applies. Schedule bulk generation only for pending values and keep machine-generated text out of the reviewed state until an editor approves it.

Verify discovery

Check post and archive canonicals, reciprocal hreflang, sitemap behavior, search results, related-post links, and the language selector. POM Translate keeps root sitemap and feed files outside locale prefixes; confirm the active SEO or feed system produces the intended result.

The expected outcome is one post and one set of terms with locale-specific rendered values and routes—not parallel post trees.
