Add business context for better translations

POM Translate sends the POM AI business short description with every machine-translation request. It does not send the full business description.

This short context helps the translator choose the meaning of ambiguous words and maintain suitable product terminology. If the field is empty, the request falls back to the generic description General services company, which provides almost no useful guidance.

Configure the field

  1. Open Settings → POM AI → AI Setup.
  2. Find Your business short description.
  3. Write one compact sentence that identifies the business, offering, audience, and distinguishing vocabulary.
  4. Save the settings.
  5. Translate a representative paragraph and review the terminology.

For example, “Software company” is too broad. “Booking software for independent restaurants, written for hospitality owners in a direct professional tone” gives the translator a domain, audience, and register.

What belongs here

Include stable information that applies across the site:

  • the business or organization type;
  • the main product, service, or subject matter;
  • the intended audience;
  • brand and product names that should remain recognizable;
  • the general register, when it is central to the brand.

Do not use this field for one page's instructions. Put site-wide translation rules in translator notes, and resolve page-specific wording during editorial review.

Privacy and maintenance

The short description accompanies remote translation requests. Exclude customer names, unpublished plans, private pricing, credentials, and internal metrics.

Review it after a repositioning, product rename, audience change, or repeated terminology problem. New settings affect later requests only; they do not rewrite translations already stored with Machine, Human, or Reviewed status.
