Translate WooCommerce email headings

The heading is the prominent title inside a WooCommerce email. It is independent from the inbox subject and may use a different set of placeholders.

Edit a heading

  1. Open Translations → Other translations → WooCommerce emails.
  2. Select the target locale and email template.
  3. Review the source Heading.
  4. Enter the target wording.
  5. Insert every token listed under Required placeholders.
  6. Generate an HTML preview.
  7. Generate a plain-text preview.
  8. Save the form.

An empty target heading falls back to the source. Fields whose source is empty are not treated as missing translation work.

Review in both formats

HTML templates place the heading in the styled email header. Plain-text templates render it without that layout. Check:

  • length and line breaks;
  • capitalization and punctuation;
  • product or order terminology;
  • placeholder values;
  • contrast and wrapping in the HTML preview;
  • readability in plain text.

The preview prepares the selected email object with a real test order while replacing customer details with sample data. It does not send the email.

Placeholder safety

POM Translate compares the translated heading with the source requirements. Missing and unexpected placeholders prevent saving, previewing, and sending a test.

Do not translate the characters inside brace tokens. Move the complete token only when grammar requires it.

Machine-translated drafts

When POM AI is enabled, an empty heading can be translated from its field action. The result is an unsaved edit. Review it in context; short headings often need a more natural choice than a literal translation.

Changing a heading after generating a preview marks that preview as stale. Regenerate it before approval, then save and verify the actual customer email under the correct email language context.
