Review machine-translation data processing
Machine translation sends the selected source strings and the context needed to translate them to POM AI. Business context and translator notes can also be included when configured.
Before enabling the workflow:
- identify which post types, fields, taxonomies, and registered strings can enter a batch;
- exclude personal, confidential, regulated, or contractual values that should not leave the site;
- keep business descriptions and translator notes general and free of secrets;
- review the applicable service terms, retention, region, and subprocessors;
- decide who may start bulk work and who reviews the result.
Do not register customer records, private order notes, credentials, form submissions, or support conversations as translatable strings.
POM Translate's metadata allowlist and content-type controls reduce accidental collection, but they do not decide the site's privacy policy. The site owner remains responsible for choosing appropriate source material.
Use a staging sample when adding a new content source. Inspect the exported or queued text, confirm that it contains only intended public copy, and then enable broader processing.
