Activate your POM Translate license
POM Translate is free of charge, but the private release still uses the normal POM subscription and license flow. Complete the zero-cost renewable checkout, authorize the current domain, and keep the license valid so WordPress can receive private update metadata and packages.
This product license does not pay for or authorize machine translation.
Obtain the key
- Sign in to the POM account that owns the site.
- Complete the POM Translate checkout if no active subscription exists.
- Open My Account → Licenses & Downloads.
- Copy the key for POM Translate.
- Keep it out of tickets, screenshots, logs, and shared documents.
A zero-price order is still a subscription record. An expired, cancelled, revoked, product-mismatched, or unauthorized key cannot be replaced by leaving the field empty.
Validate it in WordPress
Open:
Settings → POM Translate → License
Then:
- paste the POM Translate key;
- select Save and validate;
- confirm the status identifies POM Translate;
- confirm the displayed domain is the current installation;
- review the plan and expiry information.
The field stores and displays the key through the shared POM license system. After saving, use the masked status rather than exposing the full value.
Understand the license actions
The available action depends on the current state:
- Save and validate stores a new key after checking it.
- Replace and validate verifies a replacement before overwriting the working entry.
- Revalidate refreshes the saved license and domain status.
- Unlink asks the account service to release the domain before removing the local entry.
If unlinking cannot be confirmed remotely, POM Translate keeps the local working entry instead of silently discarding it.
Revalidate after moving from staging to production, changing the canonical hostname, or changing multisite domain mapping.
Multisite scope
Private plugin updates use the network/main-site POM Translate license. For the local fallback updater to run on multisite, POM Translate must be network-active or active on the main site.
A subsite can display the licensing requirement, but configuring only a subsite does not establish the network update path. Perform the update check from Network Admin → Dashboard → Updates after the main/network license is valid.
POM AI is a separate authorization
The optional Translate with AI actions additionally require:
- the POM AI plugin and machine-translation setting;
- a valid POM AI license for the requesting site;
- an authorized domain;
- available POM AI credits.
On a multisite subsite, the POM AI service key must be saved explicitly for that subsite. It is not inherited from the network key. The POM Translate license must never be entered as the POM AI key.
Verify the connection
- Open Dashboard → Updates, or Network Admin → Dashboard → Updates on multisite.
- request a fresh update check;
- confirm POM Translate does not show a missing-license warning;
- return to the License section and confirm the valid status persists.
A temporary account-service outage should not stop already stored translations from rendering. It can, however, delay revalidation or private update discovery.
