Review machine-generated text
A successful POM AI response is stored with Machine status and can be rendered immediately on the localized site. The status records provenance; it is not an approval or publication barrier.
Build the review set
- Open Translations → Translate contents.
- Select one target language.
- Filter Status by Machine.
- Review related strings together by object, not as isolated sentences.
- Repeat under Other translations for registered defaults and WooCommerce email fields.
- Check software strings in their separate catalog workflow before exporting PO or MO files.
POM Translate validates protected markers before storing a machine result. It also discards a reply when the source changed during the request. Those checks protect structure and version identity, not linguistic correctness.
Review in context
For each representative page, term, menu, or email:
- compare meaning with the source;
- check product names and recurring terminology;
- check formality, regional variety, punctuation, numbers, and units;
- read adjacent segments for continuity;
- verify placeholders and variables still appear in the correct semantic position;
- open the localized frontend and inspect formatting, links, buttons, navigation, and responsive layout;
- confirm untranslated values fall back acceptably.
The business description and translator notes influence later requests but do not enforce a glossary. A fluent reviewer remains necessary for brand-critical, legal, medical, financial, allergen, safety, or regulated content.
Record the result
If an editor changes and saves the wording, the row receives Human status. If the machine text is accepted unchanged, select the row and use Mark as Reviewed.
Use Reviewed only after a person has checked the actual value in its target-language context. Do not mark an entire run reviewed merely because it completed without an error.
Finally, filter Pending. Missing, empty, marker-damaging, oversized, or stale-source results remain there for another automatic attempt or manual translation.
