Translate My Account

My Account combines a translated WordPress page with WooCommerce menu labels, endpoint titles, endpoint slugs, order actions, and extension routes.

Translate the account page

Translate the My Account page title, body, and localized page slug through the normal page workflow. That page becomes the base permalink used for every account endpoint in the active locale.

Fixed WooCommerce prose still requires the WooCommerce gettext catalog. Custom menu or action labels can be resolved as registered strings under Translations → Other translations.

Endpoint behavior

POM Translate localizes:

  • account menu labels;
  • order-table column and action labels;
  • endpoint page titles;
  • endpoint slugs when a locale-specific value is stored;
  • complete endpoint URLs.

When no translated endpoint slug exists, the base WooCommerce slug is used.

Endpoint links are rebuilt from the already localized My Account permalink plus an unprefixed endpoint and optional value. This avoids paths with two language prefixes.

Test core and extension endpoints

For every target locale:

  1. Open the My Account dashboard.
  2. Follow Orders, Downloads, Addresses, Account details, Payment methods, and Logout where enabled.
  3. Open an endpoint containing a value, such as a specific order.
  4. Test subscription or other extension endpoints.
  5. Confirm each URL contains exactly one locale prefix.
  6. Reload each URL directly and confirm it resolves the My Account page instead of a 404.

POM Translate restores endpoint query variables for prefixed routes. Extensions participate reliably when they register public page endpoints through WordPress's normal add_rewrite_endpoint() API with the EP_PAGES mask.

Troubleshooting

After changing page or endpoint slugs, save Settings → Permalinks and clear routing caches. If a menu label stays untranslated but the route works, translate the label as a registered string or provide the extension's gettext catalog.

If an extension builds account links manually instead of using WooCommerce endpoint helpers, its URL may bypass the localized rebuilding logic and require an integration update.
