Work with content strings
Use Translations → Translate contents for database-backed strings extracted from posts, registered metadata, terms, and navigation menu items.
Find the required rows
Choose an additional language, then combine the search and Status filters with an object filter when needed. Object filters support posts, terms, and navigation menus; an object ID can isolate one item, and a taxonomy can refine a term search.
The table shows:
- Original Text;
- Translation for the selected locale;
- Status;
- Translator;
- Context, including the source object and field.
Registered defaults and WooCommerce email strings are intentionally excluded from this tab.
Edit and classify translations
Enter or correct text and select Save translations. A non-empty manual edit is stored as Human. Clearing the value stores an empty Pending translation.
Bulk actions can mark selected rows as Pending, Machine, Human, or Reviewed. Delete selected translations removes only the translations for the selected locale.
Protected formatting markers are validated when saving. If a translation removes, changes, or duplicates a required marker, POM Translate rejects that row and shows an error instead of saving structurally unsafe text.
Verify in context
Review related segments together, especially post content split across several rows. After saving, open the source object in the selected public language and verify formatting, links, custom fields, and fallbacks. A status change alone does not improve or publish the wording.
