Help and troubleshooting

This chapter starts from what you can see and works backwards to the smallest thing that needs correcting. Each article covers one symptom, lists the checks in the order that resolves them fastest, and says explicitly when the cause is outside Fenómenus.

Before opening any article, do the two checks that explain most reports:

  1. Look while signed out. Open the page in a private browser window. What you see signed in is not what a guest sees.
  2. Reload once. A browser, a page cache or a CDN can still be serving the version from before your change.

Find your symptom

What you are seeing Read
A menu, a section or an item is not on the public site A menu does not appear
An item shows under a section it does not belong to An item is in the wrong category
A price you changed still shows the old value A price does not update
Dragging works but the order comes back wrong Drag and drop does not save
The allergen filter hides or keeps the wrong dishes The allergen filter is wrong
A scanned code opens the wrong page A QR code opens the wrong page
The printed PDF and the digital menu disagree The PDF does not match the menu
A pasted spreadsheet imports badly or not at all A spreadsheet import fails
A language shows the wrong text, or nothing A translation is missing
You are about to contact support Safe information to send with a support request

The layers a symptom can come from

Almost every report belongs to one of five layers. Naming the layer first saves most of the diagnosis:

  1. The item — its status, its category, its field values.
  2. The structure — whether the menu type is enabled, whether the category exists, whether the archive is published.
  3. The settings — which navigation, dock links, allergen content types or labels are switched on.
  4. A generated artefact — a PDF or a QR file produced earlier from content that has since changed.
  5. A cache — the browser, a page cache, or a CDN holding an older copy.

Layers 4 and 5 are the ones that make a correct change look broken. Neither updates itself.

Two behaviors that surprise people

Deleting an item from the list is permanent. The delete action on All items removes the item outright; it does not go to the trash and there is nothing to restore. Use Draft for anything you might want back.

Menu items keep no revision history. There is no earlier version of a dish to roll back to. This is why the recommended habit is to change one item, check it, and only then repeat.

When the cause is not Fenómenus

Some symptoms are genuinely outside the product:

  • The AI tools stop working when POM AI is inactive or the site's connection to it is not valid.
  • Languages disappear when the translation layer is deactivated.
  • A page cache or CDN keeps serving an old page until it is purged.
  • A printed QR code stops working when the address it encodes changes.

Each article says when this applies, so you do not spend time correcting content that is already correct.
