Preview, regenerate, and download

The editor preview is the working view of a saved design. Regeneration resolves current WordPress content and creates a new printable snapshot.

Review the live preview

Open PDF designs, select Edit, and review:

  • page and section order in the left sidebar;
  • the complete Layers tree, including feed, term, and loop-item components;
  • category and item order;
  • text, image, price, icon, and dotted-leader alignment;
  • feed overflow pages and repeated layers;
  • page breaks for each term hierarchy depth;
  • custom CSS and selector-specific styling.

By default, a feed preview loads every matching post. If a very large catalogue makes editing slow, select the feed and enter an Optional item limit below CSS selectors in the right inspector. This cap affects only the live editor workload. Clear the field to return to all posts; final PDF generation always resolves the complete source query.

Use Refresh preview after changing WordPress content while the editor remains open.

Generate from the editor

  1. Save the design.
  2. Select Generate PDF.
  3. Wait for the completion message; large catalogues can take substantially longer than the live preview.
  4. Select Open PDF and inspect the generated file at full size.

Generation reloads feeds, site values, the generation date, page numbers, images, and other dynamic fields. Fenómenus stores one current file for the design in the active site's uploads area without adding it to the WordPress Media Library.

Generated files larger than 150 MB are rejected and are not copied into permanent storage. Reduce image dimensions or the amount of content before trying again; any previously generated valid file remains available.

Only one PDF can be generated at a time. After a generation starts, the active site has a two-minute cooldown before another can begin. The editor disables Generate PDF and shows the remaining time; this limit also applies when the same design is open in another browser tab.

Regenerate from the design library

You do not need to open the editor to refresh a saved design:

  1. Open PDF designs.
  2. Find the design under Saved designs.
  3. Select Generate when it has no file, or Regenerate when a previous file exists.
  4. Select Download after generation completes.

Regeneration atomically replaces the design's current server copy. The download URL receives a fresh cache version so Open PDF retrieves the new content. Files already downloaded, emailed, or printed remain snapshots.

Verify multipage behavior

An authored page containing a feed is a multipage design surface. Resize the feed frame to define the space available on every generated feed page. Page-level layers configured to repeat, the shared feed container, and the reusable term and loop-item components are rendered again as required while content continues.

Always inspect:

  1. the first feed page;
  2. a page where a term continues;
  3. a page where a configured term depth starts a new page;
  4. the final feed page;
  5. any cover or back-cover section.

When to regenerate

Regenerate after changing prices, descriptions, publication status, item or category order, allergen assignments, images, site branding, dynamic values, CSS, or the design itself. An allergen correction should be regenerated and redistributed immediately.

If the preview and current menu disagree, confirm the feed's data source, statuses, taxonomy filters, ordering, and projection, then use Refresh preview. See PDF troubleshooting if the difference remains.
