Access your Fenómenus account
Fenómenus is managed from the WordPress administration of your restaurant site. This page explains how to get in, what each kind of account is allowed to do, and how to give kitchen or floor staff a simplified workspace that only contains the menus.
- Open your site address followed by
/wp-admin/. - Enter the user name or email address and the password of your account.
- Confirm, once you are in, that the site name in the top-left corner is the restaurant you intended to edit.
That last check matters when the restaurant belongs to a network of sites: several restaurants can share one login while keeping separate menus, and every Fenómenus screen only ever shows the site you are currently in.
If you cannot sign in, use the Lost your password? link on the login form. Fenómenus does not store or manage passwords; account recovery is a WordPress function.
What each account can do
Access is decided by ordinary WordPress capabilities, not by a Fenómenus-specific role.
| Area | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Menu items, prices, statuses, ordering, duplication | Permission to edit posts |
| Categories: create, rename, reorder, delete | Permission to manage categories |
| Restaurant settings, content settings, allergens, tools | Permission to edit posts |
| Setup assistant | Permission to edit posts |
| QR generator, PDF menu generator, AI wine tools | Permission to edit posts |
In practice, an administrator has everything, an editor can run the whole menu operation, and an author-level account can maintain items but cannot restructure the category tree.
Fenómenus never grants a capability the account does not already have. If a screen is missing from the menu, the account is not allowed to use it, and the fix is to change the user's role in Users.
The Basic profile
Most restaurants do not want floor staff browsing plugins, themes or comments. Each user has a Basic profile switch for exactly that.
- Open Users and edit the person's account.
- Scroll to the Restaurant menus section.
- Tick Basic profile — Enables the basic profile for users who only need to edit posts.
- Save the profile.
The next time that person signs in, the administration is reduced. These entries disappear and become unreachable even by typing the address directly:
- Posts, Pages and the standard Add New post screen
- Media library
- Comments
- Appearance
- Plugins
- Users
- Tools
- Settings
- The language settings screen
What remains is the menu work: the menu types, their items and categories, and the Fenómenus tools. Media uploads still work from inside an item, so the person can add dish photos without reaching the full library.
On a network of restaurants, the Basic profile is stored per site. The same person can be restricted in one restaurant and unrestricted in another, so tick the box on each site where it should apply.
Note that Settings → Restaurant settings is part of the hidden Settings menu. Give the Basic profile to people who maintain dishes and prices, not to the person who configures the restaurant profile, allergen list or public design.
Translation permissions
When a Basic profile account is also expected to maintain translated menus, it keeps the permissions it needs to manage content translations and their slugs. You do not have to remove the Basic profile to let someone translate a dish.
When something is missing
| Symptom | Most likely cause |
|---|---|
| A whole menu type is absent from the sidebar | That menu type was not enabled during setup. See Complete the setup assistant. |
| All categories is missing but All items is there | The account cannot manage categories. |
| Settings, Plugins and Users are all missing | The account has the Basic profile enabled. |
| The site looks correct but the menus belong to another restaurant | You are signed in to a different site of the network. |
| A yellow notice says the setup wizard has not been completed | Setup was never finished on this site; follow the link in the notice. |
Keep account data out of your material
Screenshots for staff training, exported spreadsheets and support messages should never contain the login form with a filled-in user name, a password reset link, or a session URL. Crop them out before sharing, and never reuse one personal account for the whole team — separate accounts are what makes the Basic profile useful in the first place.
Next, set the restaurant's own identity in Configure your restaurant information.
