Wine fields

A wine record replaces the generic dish fields with panels built for wine. This page is the map of what each one holds and who it is for.

The panels

Opening a wine shows:

  • Detalles del vino — prices, market references, image, vintage, ageing classification and the technical sheet;
  • Tipo de vino — the wine's type, chosen from the wine category tree;
  • the standard side panels for allergens and categories.

The wine list does not use the rich content editor the way other menu types do; the wine's description and technical detail live in the wine panel.

Precios de venta

The four sale prices: glass, bottle, Magnum and Benjamin. These are the values guests see. Fill only the formats the cellar actually pours — see Wine price formats.

Referencias del mercado

Four reference values that are not shown to guests:

Field Meaning
Recommended supermarket price What the bottle costs at retail
Minimum recommended price for a restaurant The floor of a sensible restaurant price
Average restaurant price What comparable restaurants charge
Maximum recommended price for a restaurant The ceiling before the price stops being credible

They exist to support your pricing decisions, and they are one of the things the AI tools can fill in. Where no data exists, the panel shows that there is none rather than inventing a number.

Imagen

A single image, chosen from the media library. Wines and beverages use one image rather than a gallery, because one bottle rarely needs a second angle.

Añada

The vintage, selected from the vintage list. It can also be set from the wine's row on All items, which is the fastest way to correct a batch after a delivery.

Ratings

Parker score and Peñín score are whole-number fields from 0 to 100. Enter only a score published for the exact wine and vintage. Leave the field empty when that rating guide has not scored the bottle or when the vintage cannot be verified.

The generated wine layouts show only the ratings that contain a value, followed by /100; an empty field produces no placeholder or zero score.

Ageing classification

Young wine, medium ageing or long ageing — a deliberately international three-step scale so that Spanish, Italian and French conventions can sit on the same list and still be compared.

Ficha técnica

The technical sheet, in two groups.

Characteristics — body, acidity, sweetness, tannins, fruitiness, aromatic intensity, alcohol, finish, minerality and complexity. These are the scaled attributes a guest or a sommelier compares between wines.

Tasting notes — visual note, nose note, palate note, body, structure, finish, terroir, vinification and how to serve. These are the descriptive fields that make a wine list read like a wine list.

Also stored: the pairing suggestion, alcohol content, Parker score and Peñín score.

What is worth filling

Not every wine needs a complete sheet. A practical hierarchy:

  1. Always — title, category or type, vintage, and at least one price.
  2. For anything you want to sell — a short description, the region and the grape.
  3. For the by-the-glass selection and the wines you recommend — tasting notes, pairing and any verified Parker or Peñín rating, since those are the wines a guest asks about.
  4. For a reference list — the full technical sheet, if the house positions itself on its cellar.

A list of four hundred references with four hundred complete sheets is admirable and rarely finished. Complete the wines that sell.

Searching for a wine from the edit screen

The wine panel includes a search that looks the wine up and offers to fill in what is missing, with a manual request option if nothing is found. It fills empty fields and leaves values you have already curated alone.

See Search a wine with AI.

Allergens

Enable allergen information for the wine list from Content settings → Allergens if your policy is to declare sulphites. The panel then appears on wine records like any other item.
