Troubleshoot PDF designs
The editor shows no posts
Confirm that the design has a data source, the selected feed uses that source, and matching posts are published. Refresh the source from Data. An empty optional preview limit means all posts; it does not mean zero posts.
The editor is slow with a very large menu
Select the feed, scroll below CSS selectors, and enter a temporary Optional item limit. This reduces only the live editor workload. Clear the field before the final review if you need to inspect every item; PDF generation always uses the complete feed.
A feed element cannot be moved
Open Layers, expand the feed, and select Feed container, Term container, or Loop item. The centre canvas switches to that reusable component. Select its child element and drag or resize it there. Editing a component changes every rendered instance.
Category headings or items break at the wrong place
Select the Term container to review page-break rules for each hierarchy depth. Also check the section's keep-together rules, each component's height, row gap, and the selected child's margins and padding. Large vertical spacing can intentionally force the following content onto another page.
Images or allergen icons are missing
For normal images, confirm the dynamic field uses an image display and that its ordered field or fixed-URL fallbacks are valid. For allergens, add Allergen icons inside the Loop item and confirm each allergen term has an image or icon assigned in Fenómenus.
Generate PDF reports that Chrome or Chromium is unavailable
The plugin includes the PHP browser-control library through Composer, but that library controls a browser executable; it does not contain the browser itself. Install Chrome or Chromium on the WordPress server, or ask the server administrator to configure the executable path. On a local Mac, Homebrew Chromium or Google Chrome is suitable when the application can execute it.
The generated file cannot be stored
Confirm that WordPress can write to the active site's uploads directory and its pom-restaurant-menus/pdfs subdirectory. Fenómenus first uses a private temporary directory, then atomically replaces the design's single file outside the Media Library. Temporary files are cleaned after the attempt.
If Generate PDF shows a countdown, wait until the two-minute cooldown reaches zero. If another generation is still active, allow that browser process to finish before retrying.
Generation is already running
Only one generation runs at a time for the application instance. Wait for the current export to finish and retry. This prevents two large browser renders from exhausting server resources.
Preview and PDF look different
Save the design before generating. Then compare fonts, custom CSS, element geometry, image loading, and repeated components. The renderer uses the saved document, not unsaved editor state.
