Tour the Fenómenus interface
Fenómenus spreads its work across three places: one sidebar menu per menu type, a settings screen for the restaurant as a whole, and a QR generator. This tour explains what each screen is for, so you always know where a given change belongs.
The sidebar
After setup, the sidebar contains one entry per enabled menu type — À la carte menu, Terrace menu, Breakfast, Desserts, Bar menu, Wine list, Cocktails, Beverages, Tasting menu, Set menu — plus QR generator near the bottom.
Every menu type opens the same set of screens:
| Entry | Purpose |
|---|---|
| All items | The working list: order, prices, statuses, featured, duplicate, delete |
| All categories | The category tree of that menu type |
| Bulk create/update | Paste rows from a spreadsheet to create or update many items at once |
| PDF menu generator | Build and download the printable version of that menu |
Three entries are specific to particular menu types:
- Wine list additionally offers Add new from search, Bulk add wines from Excel or photo and Fill in your wine details with AI when those tools are enabled.
- Set menu additionally offers Set menu dishes and Set menu dishes category, where you maintain the dishes that guests choose between inside a set menu.
- Tasting menus and set menus have no Bulk create/update entry, because they are not price-per-row lists.
The standard WordPress list and category screens for these content types are deliberately not used. Opening them redirects to the Fenómenus screens above.
All items
The heading reads Your menu items with the total item count beside it. Below it:
- a search box that filters by title;
- a category filter listing the category tree;
- a status filter: All statuses, Published, Draft.
Items appear grouped under their category heading, in the order guests see them. Drag an item to move it; the new order is saved and confirmed with Order saved successfully.
Each row exposes the actions you need most often without opening the item: edit its serving prices inline, switch between Published and Draft, toggle the featured star, change its category, duplicate it, or delete it. On a wine list, the vintage can also be set from the row.
Two extras sit at the edges of the screen:
- Uncategorized Items appears above the list when items exist without a category. They are not shown to guests until a category is assigned, and the screen says so.
- Download as Excel appears at the top right for menu types with exportable columns, and produces an
.xlsxfile of the current items.
Long lists load in batches; Load More brings in the next one.
All categories
The heading reads Your categories with a count. Categories are dragged to reorder and dragged sideways to indent, with a maximum of one level of nesting — a parent and its children, and no deeper.
Below the tree, New category name… plus Add new creates a category. Structural changes are staged rather than applied instantly: the screen shows You have unsaved changes and enables the Save changes button, and it asks you to save pending changes before adding or deleting a category.
Deleting asks for confirmation and warns that items may be assigned to that category. Items are not deleted with it, but they lose that category and can end up in Uncategorized Items.
The item screen
Opening an item shows a two-column editor with the panels expanded and fixed in place, so the layout is the same for everyone on the team.
- The main column holds the item's photo gallery, video, subtitle, short description, long description and the serving prices that apply to this menu type.
- The side column holds the featured switch, the category checklist, the allergens and any additional lists the menu type uses.
Wine items replace the generic panels with wine-specific ones: sale prices per format, the wine type, and a technical sheet with characteristics, tasting notes and market price references.
Two conveniences run on save: if the item has a gallery and no featured image, the first gallery image becomes the featured image; and if a published item has no category, it is assigned to the first available one — or, when the menu type has no categories at all yet, to a new category named after the menu type.
Settings → Restaurant settings
One screen with three tabs, each with its own subsections.
Restaurant setup
- Basic setup — the landing panel that points you at the other tabs.
- Restaurant settings — the restaurant profile: name, logo, fiscal identity and contact emails. Also the Restart Setup Assistant button.
Content settings
- Content types — the list of the ten menu types with their status, and the control that enables a type that is not active yet by choosing its public layout.
- Content settings — the appearance and behavior of the public menus: the featured label, category navigation colors, contact dock colors, and then, per menu type, its archive background image, its icon, its plural label, which links its contact dock shows, the dock's label, icon and home URL, which utility toggles the category navigation offers (filters, favorites, language) and whether that navigation is flat instead of nested.
- Allergens — which content types carry allergen information, and the allergen list itself.
Enabled tools
Cards for the optional features. Each one is switched on or off individually:
- AI wine database — search a wine and create its record
- AI wine content enhancer — fill in missing wine details
- AI wine list generator — read a wine list from a photo
- QR codes generator
- PDF menu generator
Turning a card off removes its screens from the sidebar. It does not delete anything the tool has already created.
QR generator
A standalone top-level entry. It lists the home page, the archive of each menu type, and the category archives of each menu type, plus a Custom URL field. Select destinations, choose Generate Codes, and download each result as PNG or SVG. On a multilingual site the results are grouped by language.
