Image assistance

One AI tool reads images: the wine list generator, which turns a photographed wine list into editable rows. This page covers what it does, how to photograph for it, and what image assistance does not include.

What it does

Wine list → Bulk add wines from Excel or photo accepts a photo of a wine list — printed, typed or handwritten — analyzes it, and fills the on-screen table with the wines it detects: names and prices.

The rows sit in the table until you review them and save. Nothing is written to your wine list by the analysis itself.

Accepted formats

.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .webp — one image per analysis.

Photograph for the tool, not for the album

The photo decides how much correcting you do:

  • shoot the page flat and square to the camera, filling the frame;
  • use even light; avoid a flash reflection across the page;
  • one page per photo — a spread shot at an angle loses the outer column;
  • prefer a printed original over a photocopy, and a photocopy over a photograph of a screen;
  • handwriting works, with more corrections.

Review the rows

Against the original page, check:

  • names — producer names and accented characters are where errors concentrate;
  • prices — confirm each landed in the right column; a glass price read as a bottle price is expensive and easy to miss;
  • missing rows — compare the count against the page;
  • split rows — a wrapped name can arrive as two entries;
  • vintages inside names — remove them.

Edit in the table, then choose the category and save.

What it produces, and what it does not

It gives you names, prices and a category. It does not give you regions, grapes, vintages or tasting notes.

Complete those afterwards with the wine content enhancer, or by hand for a short list.

What image assistance does not cover

To be explicit about scope:

  • No dish photography. Fenómenus does not generate, crop, retouch or enhance item photos.
  • No image recognition on dishes. Photographing a plate does not create a dish or infer its ingredients.
  • No allergen detection. Nothing about an image is used to determine allergens — that information is only ever what you enter.
  • No food menu import from a photo. The photo tool is specific to wine lists.

For a food menu that exists only on paper, the supported route is to type it into a spreadsheet and paste it into the bulk table. See Paste items in bulk.

Cost

The analysis consumes POM AI credit, and the screen shows the estimate before the image is processed — the action is Upload and Calculate Credits.

Photograph well the first time: a second attempt costs the same as the first.
