Images in PDF designs
Images are ordinary layers in the PDF editor. They can be placed on a page, inside the feed container, inside a term component, or inside the reusable loop-item component.
Add a fixed image
- Open PDF designs and edit a design.
- In Layers, select the page or component that should own the image.
- Select Add element and then Image.
- Choose an image from the WordPress Media Library.
- Drag and resize it on the canvas. Use the inspector to set its exact position, size, rotation, fit, alignment, margin, and padding.
- Choose the WordPress copy to load: Thumbnail, Medium, Medium large, Large, or Full size.
A page-level image is placed once on that authored page. If the same page also contains a feed, use Repeat this block on every feed page when the image must appear on every overflow page.
Add a dynamic item image
- Expand the feed in Layers.
- Select Loop item and use its Add element button.
- Add Dynamic.
- Select the feed's data source and bind the layer to Featured image or another available image field.
- Set Render as to Image.
- Choose its Cover, Contain, Fill, or None fit and the WordPress image size to load.
- Position the image freely inside the loop-item canvas.
The loop-item canvas is reused for every post. Moving or resizing this layer updates every item in the preview and in the generated PDF.
Configure an image fallback chain
Select a dynamic image layer and use the inspector to choose:
- a primary image field;
- an optional Fallback field, such as a menu-specific image meta field;
- an optional Fallback URL for a fixed final image.
The first available safe image is used. A missing value does not force a hardcoded placeholder, so leave the final URL empty when the item should have no image.
When a term or loop-item component is opened in isolation, Fenómenus intentionally displays a neutral placeholder instead of a real post or taxonomy image. This keeps component design predictable when the feed source changes. The full page preview and generated PDF continue to use real values and the configured fallback chain.
Site logo and allergen images
Use a general dynamic layer bound to Site logo for the current site's logo. Place it on a repeated page layer or in a feed container when it must appear on every feed page.
Inside Loop item, choose Allergen icons to render the image or icon assigned to every allergen term. This is distinct from a dynamic text layer that prints only allergen names.
Print-quality checks
- Open the generated PDF at full size; the canvas is not a substitute for the exported file.
- Confirm that crops made with Cover, Contain, Fill, or None behave as intended.
- Check at least one item using each fallback branch.
- Inspect the first, an overflow, and the final feed page.
- Keep source files large enough for their physical print size without using unnecessarily heavy originals.
