Download SVG
SVG is the format for anything that will be printed. It is a vector file: it describes the shapes of the code rather than a fixed grid of pixels, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size.
What SVG is for
- Table tents and table stickers.
- Posters and window vinyls.
- Coasters, place mats and printed menus.
- Business cards and flyers.
- Anything a print shop will produce.
Download one
- Generate the codes.
- Find the result you want, in the correct language group.
- Select SVG.
- Rename the file to say where it points and in which language.
Why it matters
A QR scanner reads the edges between light and dark cells. A PNG enlarged for a poster has soft edges, and soft edges are what makes a printed code fail at table distance or in dim light.
An SVG has no resolution to lose. The same file works for a 2 cm sticker and a 2 m banner.
Send the SVG to the printer
Not the PNG "because it opens more easily". If the print shop asks for a different format, let them convert from the SVG — they can produce a high-resolution file from it, and cannot recover one from a PNG.
Print requirements that apply whatever the format
- Quiet space. Keep a clear margin around the code; artwork pressed against its edges breaks the scan.
- Contrast. Dark code on a light background. Inverted or low-contrast codes are unreliable.
- Square. Never stretch the code to fill a space.
- Size. Bigger than looks necessary. A code read from a seated position needs more than a code read at arm's length.
- Finish. Test gloss and lamination under the room's real lighting; reflections defeat some cameras.
Always print one proof
The whole point of the SVG is that the printed result is faithful. Prove it:
- Print one code at its final size, on the final material.
- Scan it from where a guest will sit.
- Do it in the room's own lighting, not at a desk.
- Only then order the run.
Name and store the files
home-es-2026-03.svg
wine-list-en-2026-03.svg
terrace-menu-2026-03.svg
Keep them in a shared folder with a short note of what was printed and where it was placed. Every reprint, every new terrace, every replacement table tent starts from that folder.
Both formats, one code
The PNG and the SVG of the same result encode the same address. Downloading both is free and covers every use: the PNG for a slide, the SVG for the printer.
