Bulk fill wine information
The bulk fill tool completes missing details across wines you already have. It is the tool for the common situation of a list that was imported with names and prices and nothing else.
Before you start
- Enable it: Settings → Restaurant settings → Enabled tools → AI wine content enhancer.
- POM AI must be active and connected.
- The wines must already exist as records. This tool enriches; it does not create.
Run it
- Open Wine list → Fill in your wine details with AI.
- Select Analyze your wines.
- Review the list of wines the tool proposes to process. Select/Deselect All is available, but a deliberate selection is better.
- Select Process Selection.
- Wait for the processing to complete.
- Review the results on screen.
- Save the changes.
The results stay on screen until you save them, which is the point of the tool: nothing is written to your wines until you have looked at it.
Start with a small selection
Run the first pass on five or ten wines that you know well. That tells you, cheaply:
- whether the tool identifies your kind of references;
- whether the descriptions match the voice of your list;
- how much editing each record will need afterwards.
If those ten are good, the next hundred probably will be. If they are not, a full run just multiplies the correction work.
What it fills
The same fields as the individual wine search: description, region, winery, grape, type, ageing classification, vintage, tasting notes, characteristics, pairing, alcohol and the market price references.
Your sale prices are never touched.
Wines it will struggle with
- Very small producers with no published information.
- House wines and private labels.
- Generic names shared by several producers.
- Titles that contain the vintage or a format, which make identification ambiguous.
That last one is avoidable: keep vintages out of titles, and this tool works far better.
Review before saving
The screen exists so the batch can be checked. Look for:
- a wine that has been confused with a similarly named one;
- a region or producer that is wrong;
- a description in a register that does not match your list;
- a vintage that contradicts the bottle;
- confident detail on an obscure wine, which is where errors hide best.
Uncheck or correct anything doubtful before saving.
Sensible batch sizes
Process in batches you can genuinely review — twenty to fifty wines is a realistic sitting. A four-hundred-wine list processed in one run produces a review nobody completes, and unreviewed AI content on a wine list is a credibility risk.
Cost
The tool consumes POM AI credit and reports the estimate before processing, so a large batch is an explicit decision.
After saving
- Spot-check ten wines against their bottles.
- Confirm nothing you had curated by hand was replaced.
- Confirm prices are unchanged.
- Check the public wine list signed out.
- Regenerate the PDF if one is in circulation.
