Requirements and credits

The AI tools depend on POM AI. This page covers what must be in place, how consumption works, and what happens when something is missing.

What is required

  1. POM AI active on the site. Without it, the tools report: POM AI must be active before Restaurant Menus can use AI tools.
  2. A valid POM AI license for this site. Without it: Connect this site to an active POM AI license before using AI tools.
  3. The individual tool enabled under Settings → Restaurant settings → Enabled tools.
  4. Permission to edit posts, like every other Fenómenus screen.

If any of these is missing, the tool says so instead of failing silently or saving partial data.

Enabling the tools

Settings → Restaurant settings → Enabled tools presents each optional feature as a card:

  • AI wine database — search a wine and create its record.
  • AI wine content enhancer — fill in missing wine details.
  • AI wine list generator — read a wine list from a photo.

Enabling a card adds its screen to the wine list's menu. Disabling one removes the screen; it does not delete anything the tool has already produced.

Credits

AI operations consume credit on your POM AI account. Fenómenus asks before spending it:

  • The photo import shows Upload and Calculate Credits before analysing an image.
  • The content writer estimates first and confirms: This will deduct approximately N credits from your account. Do you wish to continue?
  • The bulk wine tools report the estimate for the selection before processing.

You always see the cost before it is incurred.

Keeping consumption sensible

  • Test small. Run any tool on five items first. If those five need heavy correction, a batch of two hundred will need it too.
  • Fix the source first. A vague business description produces generic output that you will regenerate. Improve the description once, then generate.
  • Do not regenerate to browse. Each attempt costs credit. Read the first result properly.
  • Batch deliberately. Twenty to fifty wines at a time is reviewable; four hundred is not, and unreviewed output is wasted credit.
  • Finish the source text before translating. Translating a description you are about to rewrite spends the credit twice.

The business description is the input that matters

The description you wrote in Step 1 of the setup assistant is the context these tools work from — what the restaurant is, what it cooks, what makes it different.

It is the single highest-leverage thing you can improve. Spending fifteen minutes on it improves every subsequent generation.

When a tool reports an error

Message What to do
POM AI must be active… Ask whoever manages the site to activate POM AI
Connect this site to an active POM AI license… The license needs attention on the account side
Permission denied Use an account allowed to edit posts
No translation returned / Invalid response Retry once; if it persists, note the exact wording
An error occurred. Please try again. Retry; check the connection before repeating a large batch

What credits are not spent on

  • Enabling or disabling a tool.
  • Opening a screen.
  • Reviewing or editing a result.
  • Saving a reviewed result.
  • Any non-AI feature: QR codes, PDFs, imports, exports.

Only the generation itself consumes credit.
