Glass, shot and bottle
Drinks are priced by the vessel, not by the portion. Three fields cover it — Precio copa, Precio chupito and Precio botella — and which of them a menu type has tells you what that menu is for.
| Field | Wine list | Cocktails | Beverages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glass | Yes | Yes, as the single price | Yes |
| Shot | — | — | Yes |
| Bottle | Yes | — | Yes |
Glass
On the wine list, the glass price is what makes a wine available by the glass. Filling it is a commitment: the bottle will be opened. Leave it empty for anything sold only by the bottle.
On beverages, the glass price covers draught beer, soft drinks, vermouth and anything poured.
On cocktails, this is the only price field, and it is the price of the drink. The bulk table and the Excel export label it Price for that reason.
Shot
Precio chupito exists only on the beverages menu, and it is the field for spirits and liqueurs sold by the measure.
A spirits section usually needs the shot price and nothing else; add the bottle price only if the house actually sells full bottles to a table.
Bottle
On the wine list, the bottle price is the standard 750 ml price, and it is the field most wines will use alone.
On beverages, the bottle price covers bottled beers, waters, soft drinks and — where relevant — a full bottle of spirit.
Fill only what you pour
The rule that prevents the most confusion at the table:
- a wine available only by the bottle → bottle price only;
- a wine also poured by the glass → glass and bottle;
- a bottled water → bottle only;
- a gin → shot, and bottle only if genuinely sold that way;
- a cocktail → its single price.
An empty field displays nothing. Do not use 0 to hide a format.
Glass prices and the wine list
A by-the-glass selection is the most operationally sensitive part of a wine list, because it changes with what is open. Two habits keep it honest:
- review the glass prices as part of the weekly menu check;
- when a wine stops being poured, clear the glass price rather than drafting the whole wine — the bottle is still for sale.
Measures
Fenómenus has no field for the size of a pour. If your menu states measures — 150 ml glasses, 4 cl shots, 33 cl bottles — put them in the item's subtitle or description, and apply the same convention to the whole list.
Editing
All three formats are editable inline on All items, and all three are export and import columns for the menu types that carry them. A drinks list is the fastest menu on the site to reprice from a spreadsheet.
Checking
- Every drink has at least one price.
- No drink shows a format it is not served in.
- Measures, where stated, are written the same way throughout.
- The by-the-glass selection matches what is actually open.
- The public menu reads correctly on a phone, where the long spirit lists are hardest to lay out.
