Check the current credit balance

The balance appears in four places in WordPress and one on your account. They can legitimately disagree for a short time, so it helps to know which is authoritative.

In WordPress

Settings → POM AI → License shows Available AI credits in the license owner's account above the license panel, once a key is stored. It fetches the figure from the account when the page loads.

Dashboard → Home shows the POM AI panel to anyone who can edit posts. Its Status card has a Credits row with the last known figure and a Refresh button that re-reads the account and stores the new value.

Every tool screen shows the remaining credits under its title, using the value stored locally.

After an operation, the service returns the new balance with the result, and the tool stores it. That is why the number on a tool screen usually updates on its own after a successful generation.

On the account

My Account → POM AI Management on account.pom.es is authoritative. It shows:

  • Available now — the total across every batch that has not expired;
  • Subscription credits, with each batch, its remaining amount and its expiry;
  • Top-up credit batches, with each batch, its remaining amount, when it was added and when it expires.

When WordPress and the account disagree, the account is right.

Why WordPress can be behind

The figure in WordPress is a stored copy, refreshed when an operation completes or when you select Refresh. It goes stale whenever the balance changes somewhere else:

  • credits were bought or granted on the account;
  • another authorized domain spent from the same pool;
  • a batch expired;
  • a subscription renewed, replacing the previous batch.

None of these tell your site anything. Use Refresh on the dashboard panel, or reload the License tab, to pull the current figure.

When the balance will not load

A balance that never appears is a connection or authorization problem, not a credit problem. Work through it in this order:

Check Where
Is the license valid, with the right domain? Settings → POM AI → License
Can the server make outbound HTTPS requests? Server configuration
Is a security plugin blocking admin-ajax.php? That plugin's logs
Does the subscription include credit operations? My Account → Licenses & Downloads

The message We could not determine your remaining credits on a tool screen means the site has no stored figure yet. It points at the License tab because that is where the cause usually is. See Troubleshoot license and domain errors.

Reading a balance before a large job

Before a bulk run, do three things rather than one:

  1. Refresh the balance so you are reading a current figure.
  2. Estimate the job.
  3. Check whether other sites share this account and might spend during your run.

The third is the one people skip. On a shared subscription, a balance that comfortably covers your job at 09:00 may not at 14:00.

Balance versus domain limit

A per-domain spending limit is enforced separately from the account balance. A site can be blocked while the account still has plenty of credits, because that domain reached its own cap.

The balance display does not show the domain limit. To see it, open My Account → POM AI Management and look at the domain's row in Manage AI Domains. See Resolve an insufficient-credit error, which distinguishes the two failures.

Keeping an eye on it

  • Add a habit of glancing at the dashboard panel rather than opening settings.
  • Refresh before, not after, a large job.
  • Compare the balance movement with your estimate after each significant run.
  • Review the usage log periodically; see Review your credit history.

If the balance is dropping faster than your own work explains, the usage log shows which domain is responsible.
