Form settings

Most of the registration form is configured per event. Two things are site-wide, and both live in Settings → POM Events → Single event.

The two site-wide settings

Setting Effect
Single form privacy link URL The privacy policy the consent text links to
Single form clause Text printed under the consent checkbox

Together they are the consent block of the form.

The behavior to know: the consent checkbox and the clause are rendered only when the privacy policy URL is set.

With the URL configured, the form shows a required checkbox reading that by filling out the form the visitor accepts your privacy policy, with the policy linked, and your clause text beneath it.

With the URL empty, neither element is shown, and registrations are accepted with no consent step at all.

Configure the URL before taking any real registration.

What is configured per event

Everything else about the form:

Per-event setting Where
Which optional fields appear Registration form → Form fields
The registration button label Event info → Available button label
The waiting-list label Registration form → Waiting list button label
The finished label Registration form → Finished event button label
Whether the button appears at all Attendants → Disable signup button
Capacity Attendants → Available space

That split is deliberate: consent wording is a legal decision for the whole site, while fields and labels vary by event.

What cannot be configured anywhere

  • The form's field placeholders — Name, Last name, Email, Telephone, Comments, Country.
  • The modal heading.
  • The submit button's own label.
  • The success, waiting-list and error messages.

These come from the plugin's translations and follow the site's language.

Using the clause well

The clause is the only free text on the form, which makes it the only place to explain a field. Use it for both jobs:

We use your data to manage your registration for this event. Your telephone number is only used to contact you if the event changes. Read our privacy policy for details.

That is a legal statement and a usability improvement in the same paragraph.

Whether registration exists at all

The bigger switch is elsewhere: Settings → POM Events → General → Totally disable event attendees functionality removes the entire registration system from the site.

Decide that one first. The form settings are irrelevant if the form does not exist.

Verify

  1. Set the privacy URL and the clause, and save.
  2. Open an event's registration form signed out.
  3. Confirm the checkbox appears and the link opens the policy.
  4. Confirm the clause reads correctly beneath it.
  5. Try to submit without ticking the box and confirm it is required.
  6. Clear the URL, reload, and confirm the whole consent block disappears — then restore it.
