The attendee list
The Event assistants panel is the working view of who is coming. This page explains what each part of it shows.
Opening it
Open the event. The panel sits above the content editor, with the heading Event assistants.
If it is not there:
- attendee functionality is disabled under Settings → POM Events → General; or
- the active theme is not the POM theme, in which case the whole event runtime is absent.
The three sections
The table has three blocks, each with its own heading row:
| Section | Contains |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | Registrations with a place |
| Waiting list | Registrations queued because the event was full |
| Cancelled | Registrations that are no longer attending |
An empty section says so in its own words — that there are no assistants signed up, none in the waiting list, or none in the cancelled list — rather than showing a blank area.
The columns
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| User name | The attendee's display name, from the user account behind the registration |
| The address, as a mail link | |
| Telephone | The number, as a call link, or a dash when none was given |
| Comments | A comment icon that opens the text, or a dash when there is none |
| Actions | A control that moves the registration to another section |
Cancelled rows also carry a delete control.
Reading the columns usefully
Email as a link. Selecting it opens a new message to that person. This is how you contact one attendee — there is no built-in messaging.
Telephone as a link. On a laptop it opens the calling application; on a tablet it dials. Useful when a place is released at short notice.
Comments in a modal. The comment opens over the page rather than expanding the row, so a long note does not break the table. Rows with no comment show a dash, so you can scan for the ones that need attention.
The name comes from the user account
The User name column shows the display name of the WordPress user behind the registration, not a raw form value. That is why registering creates a user account — see Registration and user accounts.
If a name looks wrong, it is the user account that needs correcting, under Users.
What the panel does not show
- The country, when that optional field is enabled. It is stored and exported, but not shown as a column here.
- The date and time the person registered.
- Any history of moves between sections.
- Whether the person actually attended.
For anything in that list, the export is the tool — see Export to CSV.
The count on the events list
All Events shows an Assistants column: the number of confirmed registrations. Waiting-list and cancelled rows are excluded, so it is the number that matters operationally.
Sort by Event start date to see the upcoming events with their counts in one view.
Changes are immediate
Moving a registration between sections applies straight away, without saving the event. The row moves from one section to the other in place.
Deleting a cancelled registration is equally immediate — and permanent.
Verify
- Open an event with registrations.
- Confirm the three sections and their headings.
- Select an email link and confirm it opens a message.
- Select a comment icon and confirm the text opens.
- Confirm an empty section shows its own message.
- Compare the Confirmed count with the Assistants column on the events list.
