Organizer and contact details
Two fields tell visitors who runs the event and how to reach them. Both appear in the details sidebar of the event page.
The fields
Events settings → Event info:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Organized by | Who organizes the event |
| Telephone | A contact number, described as Contact phone number |
Organized by is also printed in the event list item, under the place.
Organized by
Write the name as the public should read it: the department, the association, the venue, or the partner organization.
Use it when the organizer is not obviously the site owner:
- a partner or co-organizer;
- a specific department, association or club;
- an external promoter using your venue.
Leave it empty for the site's own events. An empty field is not rendered, and Organized by: us adds nothing.
Keep the naming consistent. If a department organizes twenty events a year, its name must be spelled identically on all twenty — the field is free text and lists show them next to each other.
Telephone
The number is printed as a call link, so a visitor on a phone taps it and dials.
That has three consequences:
- Give a number that is answered. A published number that rings nowhere is worse than no number.
- Write it in full international form —
+34 943 000 000— so it dials correctly from abroad. - Do not use it for anything else. It is rendered as a telephone link; an extension note or opening hours belongs in the content.
If your events are handled by email rather than phone, leave the field empty and put the address in the content or in an additional link button. There is no email field in the panel.
What is not here
The panel has no fields for:
- an organizer email address;
- an organizer website;
- a contact person's name;
- social profiles.
For any of those, use an additional link button — Contact the organizer, Organizer's website — or put them in the content.
The sidebar order
The details sidebar prints, in this order, skipping anything empty:
- Date and end date
- Event category
- Place
- Organized by
- Telephone
- Add to my calendar
- Additional link buttons
Knowing the order helps you decide what to fill in: a visitor scanning the sidebar reads the date and the place first, and the contact last.
Consistency across a calendar
Agree once:
- whether Organized by is used for internal events;
- one telephone for the whole calendar, or a per-event number;
- how the organizer's name is written.
Then apply it to every event. The sidebar is the most repeated element on the site.
Verify
- Save and open the event signed out.
- Confirm the organizer appears in the sidebar and in the list item.
- Tap the telephone on a phone and confirm it dials the right number.
- Confirm empty fields render nothing at all.
