Configure the product request information button

The Request Info feature places a product-specific enquiry action after the short description. It can open a POM contact pop-up or send the visitor to a selected page.

Configure the global behavior

  1. Go to Settings → POM Theme → E-Commerce → Product single → Request info button.
  2. Enable the feature.
  3. Enter Button text.
  4. Enter the recipient Email.
  5. Enter the Email subject prefix.
  6. Write the Form step title and optional Form step description.
  7. Enable Contact pop-up for an on-page enquiry form, or leave it disabled and select Button link page.
  8. Save the settings.

Request Info settings

The form title and description support {{product_title}}. The notification subject combines the configured prefix and current product title, and the email includes the current product URL.

Choose the appropriate destination

Use Contact pop-up when the visitor needs to send a name, email, phone, and message without leaving the product. The form uses the POM Forms runtime but is generated for the current product; you do not need to create a separate stored form for every product.

Use Button link page for a longer consultation, eligibility explanation, booking route, finance information, or another complete page experience. The selected page is used only while the contact pop-up is disabled.

Override one product

Edit the product and open the Request info button product-data tab. The product can provide its own:

  • enable state;
  • button text;
  • recipient email;
  • contact pop-up choice;
  • destination page.

Turn on Replace default request info button settings? before relying on those product values. If the global feature is disabled, a product with replacement enabled and Add request info button enabled can still show the action.

A product replacement does not suppress a globally enabled button. Use product overrides to provide different content or to enable selected products when the global feature is off.

Write safe enquiry copy

Tell the customer what information is useful and when a reply is normally expected. Do not request card numbers, passwords, health details, or other sensitive data through a general product enquiry.

Use a monitored recipient address and configure reliable site mail delivery.

Verify the feature

  1. Open a product while signed out.
  2. Confirm the button appears after the short description.
  3. Check the translated button, title, description, and product title.
  4. Submit invalid and valid form values when using the pop-up.
  5. Confirm the notification recipient, subject, submitted values, and product URL.
  6. Test the destination page when the pop-up is disabled.
  7. Test a product with replacement settings.
  8. Repeat with keyboard navigation and a narrow phone viewport.

Troubleshooting

If the button is missing, check whether the global feature is enabled or whether the product has both replacement and Add request info button enabled. If the pop-up submits but no notification arrives, verify the product or global recipient and the site's transactional mail delivery. If the wrong destination opens, confirm that Contact pop-up is disabled in the active global or product settings.
