Configure the in-stock waitlist
The in-stock waitlist lets a visitor register an email address on an eligible out-of-stock product page. POM sends an availability notification when stock returns to the configured minimum level.
A waitlist notification does not reserve stock or guarantee that it will remain available.
Configure the feature
- Go to Settings → POM Theme → E-Commerce → Product single → In-stock waitlist.
- Enable the feature.
- Enter Waitlist title.
- Enter Email input placeholder and Button label.
- Write the Success message, Invalid email message, and Already in waitlist message.
- Set Minimum stock.
- Save the settings.
The minimum stock value prevents notifications when a small stock adjustment is still below the amount the store considers available.
Supported product behavior
The form appears on out-of-stock single-product pages. Simple products and matching variations are supported; grouped products do not show the waitlist form.
For variable products, confirm that stock management and stock status are correct on the variation the customer selects. A parent product's state cannot replace missing variation inventory configuration.
Write accurate messages
Use the success message to confirm the single purpose of registration. State that the email will be used for availability notification and avoid implying a reservation.
The duplicate message should explain that the address is already waiting for that product or variation. The invalid-email message should tell the visitor how to correct the entry without exposing whether another customer's address exists.
Verify simple and variable products
- Set a simple product out of stock.
- Register a test email.
- Submit the same address again and confirm the duplicate message.
- Submit an invalid address and confirm the validation message.
- Raise stock below the configured minimum and confirm that no availability email is expected.
- Raise stock to the minimum and confirm delivery.
- Set one variation out of stock and repeat the process for that selection.
- Check the link and product information in the email.
- Repeat the form on phone and with keyboard navigation.
Return test inventory to its intended value after verification.
Privacy
Waitlist registration is operational email for a requested stock alert. Do not add the address to marketing lists without a separate, valid marketing consent. Make the site's privacy information explain the purpose and retention of waitlist data.
Troubleshooting
If the form is missing, confirm that the feature is enabled, the product or selected variation is out of stock, and the product is not grouped. If mail is missing, verify that stock reached the configured minimum and then test the site's transactional email delivery.
