Configure the desktop header

The desktop header combines a structural style with WordPress menu locations. Choose the structure first; then assign menus to the locations that structure exposes.

Select the structure

Go to Settings → POM Theme → Site layout → Header → Header general settings. and choose The header style and layout.

The available families are:

• Default, centered, or left-aligned navigation
• Centered-logo arrangements
• A split menu with the logo in the middle
• Sidebar navigation in standard or smaller, left- or right-aligned variants

Use Full-width header when the logo and navigation should use the available viewport width rather than the normal inner alignment.

Connect WordPress menus

1. Save the selected header style.
2. Open Appearance → Menus.
3. Create or select the menu to display.
4. Open Manage Locations.
5. Assign the menu to the location required by the header style.
6. Save the menu locations and reload the public page.

For a conventional header, use the relevant Primary location. A split arrangement uses left and right primary locations. POM Theme also provides logged-in primary variants, allowing authenticated visitors to receive a different navigation when assigned.

Add optional navigation surfaces

Enable only the surfaces the design needs:

• Top bar and Bottom bar can expose separate left and right menu locations.
• Full screen navigation uses Header full screen navigation.
• Side navigation uses Header side navigation.
• Logged in dropdown supports the authenticated-user dropdown.

After enabling a top or bottom bar, save the settings before assigning its menus. The theme registers those locations conditionally.

Configure login presentation

Within Header general settings., Display login form enables the login area. Its dependent controls govern the position, labels, username, Gravatar, and the action performed by the login icon.

Test this area in two sessions:

1. A private or signed-out window.
2. A window signed in as a normal site user.

Verify the desktop result

Check a wide desktop and a narrower laptop viewport. Confirm that:

• No menu item overlaps the logo or login area.
• Long labels and dropdowns remain usable.
• The current-menu style is visible.
• Hover effects do not obscure text.
• Logged-in and signed-out locations show the intended menus.

If the header changes after scrolling, continue with Sticky and transparent header behavior.
