Configure store promotions and notices
Promotional price rules belong to WooCommerce; POM controls the storefront presentation and adds optional customer features such as the store notice, wishlists, and gift vouchers. Choose the smallest mechanism that matches the message or offer.
Choose the right mechanism
- Use the WooCommerce store notice for one short, site-wide announcement.
- Use WooCommerce sale prices for a product-specific price reduction.
- Use WooCommerce coupons for conditional discounts supported by the store.
- Use a reusable block for designed editorial content in a specific POM layout.
- Use POM Wishlists for signed-in product saving and sharing.
- Use POM Gift Vouchers for a paid, numbered entitlement delivered as a PDF.
Do not reproduce the same promotion through several banners and pop-ups. The customer should see one clear offer, its conditions, and one next action.
Configure the store notice
- Go to Settings → POM Theme → E-Commerce → Storefront → WooCommerce storefront.
- enable Enable store notice;
- write the Store notice text;
- save the settings;
- open the storefront while signed out.
Keep the notice concise. Include dates, geographic or stock limits, and an accessible destination link when those details are necessary to understand the offer.
Configure discounts in WooCommerce
Set product sale prices on the product or variation that owns the price. Configure coupons in WooCommerce's coupon interface and define their amount, expiry, usage limits, product restrictions, and customer restrictions there.
POM product cards and single-product layouts present WooCommerce price and notice states; they do not replace those commercial rules.
Preserve notices through the journey
Test WooCommerce success, information, and error notices in:
- product archives;
- single-product pages;
- the dropdown or side cart;
- Cart;
- Checkout;
- My Account.
A custom layout must leave notices close to the action that caused them. Do not hide validation or stock messages to make a page visually quieter.
Verify a promotion
- open an eligible product while signed out;
- confirm the displayed regular and sale price;
- add eligible and ineligible products;
- apply a valid, invalid, expired, and restricted coupon;
- change quantity or shipping where it affects eligibility;
- remove the coupon;
- complete a test order;
- repeat on phone and in every enabled language.
Expected result: product price, cart discount, tax, shipping, total, notice text, and order record agree.
End a promotion safely
Remove or schedule the WooCommerce price or coupon rule, update the store notice, purge relevant public caches, and retest an ineligible session. Do not leave expired claims in reusable blocks, translated content, product cards, or metadata descriptions.
